Create-A-Ballpark features

From the five minute Gamespot video, which includes create-a-ballpark and a hitter's mini game, I noticed a few of the options for create a ballpark. It doesn't look dry like many were expecting. It looks like it will have a lot of features but they come with preloaded dimensions (can't make them custom dimensions) with options for a high left or right field wall. Although there is a scroll bar on the right, these are the options I can see thus far:

CREATE OWN NAME (type in the name of your park, on IGN, Hilary Goldstein named his "New Israel Park" for the Oakland A's - why, I don't know, but I he was Jewish).

Location (preloaded settings - not sure if these are all: Suburbs, Bay (like SBC Park), City

Grass color (Dark green is the only option I see but I suspect there are more)

Wall texture? (Brick is an option)

Too bad it looks like they only have pre-loaded dimensions (the three that I saw were Symetrical, Short Left Field Wall, and High Right Field Wall. I suspect that there are a few more options too. Oh well, it's a start. I'm sure that it will be more in-depth for MVP 2006. They probably didn't want to make the Create-A-Ballpark mode too in-depth because there might have been a few bugs.

I think the dark green referred to the colour of the walls.

Judging by the menu displayed in the video it looks like there are several options for field type. Grass is shown, but I am sure they would have included turf if not more options including dirt and stuff.

Also, there appears to be a slider on that menu so I think there are a whole lot more options that we don't even know about. We'll probably have a choice of pressboxes, seat colours, number of levels, etc.

I think they did right with this stadium feature.

Do we know if this "Create a Park" feature is available at any given time, or do you have to start up with it? Would be nice if you could chose, so that after 2-3 seasons you might decide to get a new stadium. 8)

Does anyone know if there will be annual costs like Madden?

Yes i quote ea

All-New Create Ballpark: In Owner Mode, build a pitcher’s paradise or a hitter’s dream. Will you spend your earnings to upgrade your ballpark or to sign that key free agent who could bring you a championship?

Does anyone else think it's annoying, or at least pointless, that EA would bother putting in corporate advertisements in the stadiums (Majestic, Donruss, etc) without making them at all the right ones?

I would rather see a Reebok ad and Reebok equipement in the game rather than Donruss.

However, how many of us know all of the ads in all of the stadiums? I know that when I play in Fenway Park for example, I don't know what particular signs are in dead center. So, if I see a Majestic billboard at least it will be recognizable. It may not be correct, but at least it's not Bub's Pickle Beer or some other ficticious company.

I wonder if we will be able to put ads on our custom stadiums? Maybe that will come as a result of selling advertising to increase profits. Who knows. March 1st cannot come soon enough.
