BaconSlayer09
To make things short, this roster project is done by me and myself only. If you want to help, great, but it might be boring. What I'm trying to do here is a wholesome roster revamp of the entire game. From attributes, to equipment, to batting stances and pitching windups. It's a complete overhaul. I'm going to do this in steps. I should have the equipment, stances, and windups roughly done by the end of this week. From there, I will work on the attributes. What I plan on doing is using sabermetric stats and some simple statistical math to inject more realism into this simulation. I won't go on entirely about how I will do this, because that's a long story. In short, I'll be using Pitch f/x data as well as UZR and other sabermetric stats to determine a reference and connect the stat and its rating together. For example, if I were to say that slugging percentage is the designation for power, I would deviate about 130 samples, find the deviation, make a chart of what slugging percentage fits into what rating. So if Albert Pujols slugged .600 against right handed pitchers, he'd have somewhere around a 99-100 rating for power against righties. Simple enough, right? Here are some videos that show the progress of my work so far through one entire day of endless editing and watching videos of windups and batting stances (tedious work, I know). Notice some of the stance changes. If you're interested, check out these players' real stances on MLB.com, you'll find that the ones in the game are very similar (I wonder why...? ) Indians vs. Rangers Phillies vs. Tigers Angels vs. Twins Mariners vs. White Sox (only Sox players are edited) If you are interested in what you just saw, download the roster off of 2KShare (It's the only one on there right now). Only three teams are fully done, but you'll get a glimpse of what I've done through that.
