Tenshi28
I just wanted to know whether most of you guys are using the strike zone on or off. I just started playing and I turned it off, since I feel it's much more realistic this way but so far I am having an awful time batting, haven't drawn any walks and I am at about .200 Granted, my grand total playing time is about 2 hours so it's a bit early to draw conclusions, but I am just curious. tks
Off...Keep working on hitting. At first I was striking out 12 to 15 times a game with very few hits. I still tend to stike out more than I'd like but hitting and hitting with power has greatly improved. Time heals all wounds..or is that time wounds all heals (ask Tiger)? Anyway, keep at it...it will get better.
Norag
Off for sure. I think it actually makes your timing better as you don't have the grey box obscuring the ball. And I still seem to be able to work walks without the guide...generally I've found that if the pitch seems to be going any direction but coming straight at you (from your view of the plate that is), it is almost always a ball. The other night against Padilla, I was able to work about 4 or 5 walks and had him out of the game in the fourth inning through working the count (he was down to 45% after 3). pitchleague
I started with the strike zone on but, on the advice of others on this or other forums, I turned it off. It's true--I can see the ball and the break on a pitch much better without the grey box in the way. I still strike out WAYYYY to much for my liking but I'm still learning--only played 5 games thus far. The only thing I don't like is that the batter's eye goes away also. I wanted to be able to try to use it at times. Off-topic, has anybody figured out what to push for an intentional walk while pitching? On PC I use a Logitech Rumblepad 2 and I've tried every button and combo I can think of. It must be in the game, because the CPU intentionally walked Prince Fielder the other day for me while I was batting. Still disappointed that I can't save instant replays either. To throw a pitch out you press the rightstick down not the direction but actually like its a button and to save the replay do the same with the leftstick. pitchleague
no, I know how to pitch out. I want to intentionally walk a batter. Or is 4 pitchouts the only way to do it. Again, the CPU intentionally walked me the other night when I was Prince Fielder (the 'ol one-pitch walk that the game uses) so I didn't imagine it. Maybe you can't on the PC? As for instant replay, nope. Clicking either one of the sticks does nothing. This was a problem with 2k9 for the PC as well for me. Don't know why it doesn't work. I even tried every button on my keyboard and none of them saved a replay.
bcgrizzly11
I choose to leave it off. Feels more realisitic. However, im a terrible batter =P haha.
