gameaddict4life
Hi everybody! I've been lurking on these forums for awhile and this is my first post! I'm wondering if my computer specs are good enough to run this game. I seem to meet the recommended specs exactly, I'm running an Intel Core Duo E2180 2.0 Ghz with 2 GB of RAM and a 512 MB Radeon HD 4600 graphics card. According to the Can You Run It website my processor actually clocks in at 3 Ghz which is what the recommended speed is for this game. The thing is is that on that same website it says that 2K9 requires a 3.2 Ghz proccessor therefore I don't meet the speed requirements for that game. It seems weird that 2K10 actually requries a lower process speed, I guess they optimized it? So anyway can I run this game on max or at all? I seem to meet all the specs I'm just not sure about the proccessor speed. Ok, second question. I'm looking at getting this game used and I've heard about an online code that can only be entered once for online play. So if I buy it used and the code is used then I can't get online with it? I don't plan to play online anyway since I'm on dial-up and not a big online player, but is there anything cool about the online part of the game besides playing the game online? I know that I can get the official roster updates and more on here but is there anything I'll be missing out on if I don't have access to the online part? Does the online even work with dial-up? Can I even connect? Well that's it for now. Thanks for reading and any responses!
MarkB
I'd be surprised if you had any problems running the game. You may not be able to run it completely smoothly, and may have to tone down a couple of the settings, but there's an in-built performance benchmarking program that should be able to do that for you. You can then adjust the settings as you see fit to get the most from the game's graphics. Hopefully your GPU will pick up any slack left by the CPU. If anyone else has a similar configuration to your system, hopefully they will post their experiences. I haven't used the online part either, and don't think I'm missing much. If you can live without playing others online (which you'll have trouble doing anyway since you're on dial-up, and from what we've been seeing, there may be some issues playing online), you're unlikely to need the CD key, which is the online code. You may like the "Living Rosters" feature, which, apparently, updates the rosters in real-time to match MLB's rosters, however, once a more complete update is made by one of the roster modders here, you probably won't even use that again, as it won't have players not in the MLBPA - that is, most minor league players, and some major league players not in the player's association. A complete roster mod made by a member here most likely will have most minor leaguers and players not in the player's association. Welcome to the site. :)

Your computer will run the game with all the settings on high. And, man, they're talkin' outta their *** when they say this game requires over a 3 Ghz dual core. I had a 2.2 Ghz dual core AMD and it worked well. I have a 2.7 Ghz dual core AMD now and it never skips a beat. It probably depends more on the GPU and you have a 4600, which is straight. BTW, my GPU is an 8800 GS 384MB. Here's how it compares to what you have ( if you have a 4650 PCI-E ).. http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=551&card2=580 So, on second thought, you may have to have a few settings on medium for the game to run as well as you want.
