fatcowxlive
A Washington National Fantisy Draft Franchise! From the creator of: Tring to Repair out wings franchise At the end of the great '09 season MLB Commissioner Bud Selig made it clear that the teams are unfair and will make a draft of all players in the MLB and the MiLB and the teams will start from scratch. Obviously World Series Champions Yankees and Runner up Team the Phillies were not pleased at all. Washington was unfortunately one of the last teams in the draft order and had to use this draft as an advantage. But it doesn’t look to great for Washington. After the draft, finally spring training started and after firing their old coach and bringing in a new one (Caboose) let’s see how this will turn out for this Washington Team! fatcowxlive
A Pitchers Game.. But Someone Had to Win, Yankees Win 1-0 The two great starters A.J. and Felix had very strong outings but Felix took the win by one run. A.J had a perfect game into the sixth then a single by the apposing pitcher, Filex and scored on a triple by Endy Chavez. But that dosn't mean the nats didn't have chanses to score. Rocco Baldelli hit a double with two outs and Buster Posey grounded out. And with Fielder on second and Griffy on first and Matt Stairs grounds into a double play with no outs. After all this, Mariano Rivera came out of the bullpen to close the game and did just that as Yankees win 1-0 The Pics: 1- 1- Rocco Baldelli with a double with two outs in the second. 2- 3- 2&3 Rocco Baldelli strikes out but the ball gets away and reaches safely without a throw. 4- 5- 4&5 With the tieing run at second and go-ahead run on first with no outs, Matt Stairs grounds into a double play 6- 7- 6&7 A triple ny Chavez scoring in the only run. The Scorer was opposing pitcher Felix Hernadez. 1-0 Yankees Lead 8- 9- 8&9 Mariano Rivera gets the final out from a fly ball off Prince Fielder. fatcowxlive
Key Players Prince Fielder and Aaron Hill will obviously be the star power hitters of this new Nationals. Batting in the 2 and 3 holes of this lineup, these young hitters will be projected as the top player of this team with thier power. Last year they put up monster numbers as Aaron Hill and Prince Fielder had second place in their league in homers and in the top five in RBIs. John Maybury Jr. is still rookie eligible so he has a task to head over and win the rookie of the year award. This rookie is still young and has very little experience, and with the number of veterens on the ball club, he is sure to improve and stick to this team for the coming years. Ken Griffy Jr. was once the leauges feared hitters is now reaching close to the end of his carrer. As the injures got to him he started to drop numbers. Age was another problem as he is 38, the only thing he can do other than provide clutch hits is to teach fellow rookies like John Maybury Jr. to be exelent like he was before. Tim Wakefield and AJ Burnett are the core veterens in this starting rotation. These pitchers have tasted victory twice (AJ in '03 with the Marlins and '09 with Yankees, Wakefield '04 and '07 with the Red Sox) and hopefully bring thier share of expierences to players such as John Lannen who has still alot to learn. fatcowxlive
The First Nats Victory 8-1 Blowout Against Red Sox!! The first win for the Nationals comes against a power house AL team the Boston Red Sox. But it was no ordinary win as it was a 7 run win with some great pitching. Lannen came out and struck out 7 and allowing no runs and five hits in only 6 innings. This is how Nolasco's day went, after three hitless innings, Banafacio got out, and Hill came up with one down and got the first hit with a solo homerun to left field. Next batter DH Prince Fielder swong and smashed the first pitch to center, Fielder walked slowley thinking it was a homerun when all of a sudden it hit the top of the wall, after Fielder found out it wasn't gone the ball was already in the fielders hand and threw it to the cuttoff man, but Fielder's slide into second beat the tag by just milliseconds! Then Griffy Jr. hit the 2-1 pitch and hit it up the middle, Fielder was rounding thired and then just before he got close to the plate, the catcher had the ball in his hand and was blocking the plate, Fielders only smart choise it to shift his weight to his slam at the catcher and the catcher let go of the ball and he was called safe on the play at home plate! The next batter Matt Stairs with Griffy on first hit a double, Griffy tried to score from first but got tagged at the plate putting Matt Stairs at second with two out. Next Rocco Baldelli hit a single up the middle but Stairs with his slow speed stade on first, now it was a man on first and third with two down for Daniel Murphy. He took his first pitch up the middle which brought in Stairs, by then they lead by 3 runs. The next inning was more trouble with back-to-back doubles after a single by Bonafacio from Aaron Hill and Prince Fielder. On that play they scored two so they lead 5-0 at that time. After Griffy got out, Matt Stairs launched a two run shot into the stands giving them the 7-0 lead. The 7th inning brought in yet another run with Hill's second homer of the day giving them the 8-0 lead. Then the sox get on the board, with two outs Jerry Hariston Jr. hit a triple past Stairs, and then Pedroia hit a double to cashe in Hariston to get a run of Carlos Villanueva. Then the rest of the bullpen finished the game getting the win for the Nationals and John Lannen. Left: Aaron hill Hits a homer in the fourth - Right: Prince Fielder hitting a double to center Left: Griffy Jr. hits a RBI single up the middle. - Right: Prince Fielder ramming the catcher and knocking the ball loose and he was called safe Rocco Balldeli hitting a single that drives in Stairs Aaron Hill and Prince Fielder's Back-to-back doubles. Matt Stairs and Aaron Hill go yard.
fatcowxlive
BREAKING NEWS!! The Posision Swap: Washington found a new posision for Maybury Jr., he can play Shortstop as one of his known and practised posision. He will be replacing Lillibridge and will still be batting in the eighth hole, before the pitcher. He is still rookie elidgible and has a bigger chanse to win if he is in the starting line up. But it diddn't matter for Lillibridge because he is leaving for a trade. The Trade: The Nats and the Brew Crew have finalized a deal to send SS Brett Lillibridge (MLB), 1B Greg Norton (AAA), C Dusty Ryan (AAA) for 20 year old rookie utility man Alexis Castilla (MLB). Caboose said the following comments: "I needed someone to take Mayberry and Lillibridge's posisions on the bench, so we hired a rookie utility man who can handle both outfield and infield, he is also a great contact hitter". He is signed to a 6 year/475K deal. Pics: Nats get: Brewers get:

fatcowxlive
Nats drop this game due to a sloppy bullpen 8-7 against Marlins This game was looking to be a close one. The game contained two new players making starts, Nelson Cruz and Alexis Castilla. Nelson Cruz went 0-3 with a walk, and Alexis Castilla went 1-4 with a single. The Nats were first to strike, with two men on and two out, Griffy Jr. triples in the two baserunners and Nats led by 2. But the Marlens counter back to tie the game. Melky Cabrerra doubles in Matt Kemp from first then he'll move to third on a single by Aramis Ramirez, then Kyle Blanks hit a sac fly to score Cabrerra in from third. The top of the second, Nats get thier lead back, as Alexis Ramirez hits a single, then a sac bunt by the pitcher, then scores on Emilio's single to give the Nats the one run advantage. There are more runs in the third, as Hill will single then score on a Fielder double. Then in the forth after two strate singles from Kemp and Rasmus, the double steal was on and they were both safe. Aramis hits one to short, then throws it to Gregg Zaun, and there was a colision at the plate, and Zaun dropped the ball so Kemp was safe, the very next batter, Blanks, hits a three run homer, to give them the one run lead. fatcowxlive
Nats rally late thanks to good bench, ties the game in the 8th and won in the 11th 5-2!! This game was a hard one agains Lowe for the Nationals but Sean Hill was easy for Atlanta. Lets go to the second, Veratik hits a triple, Maybury Jr. tried to grab it but will miss and it will hit the wall and he'll have a triple. Then with two outs Mark Tehan hits a single which scores Veritek, Braves lead one nothing. In the fifth after a single and an infield hit, Adam Jones will single and that brings in David Murphy, Braves up two. In the seventh, Nats will score after a double to left by Bonifacio and an RBI single by Hill casheing in Bonifacio. In the eighth, veteren pinch hitter Andy Tracy hits a single with two outs. Then he'll get pinch runned by Gathright, and he'll steal second. After stealing the base Bonifacio will single in Gathright to tie the game. Then in the eleventh, with no outs, rookie outfielder Derrick Dunn will pinch hit the pitcher to start the inning, and will single. SS Emanuel Burris will pinch run and will start the Hit n Run play, and Bonifacio singles on the play and Burris will put the brakes on third. Then with Hill batting Bonifacio will steal second with no throw. That is second and third with no out, then Hill will ground into a fielders choise as Burris was out at home plate. So Prince Fielder comes on with a man on third and first one out. The first pitch he swings and .... JACKS HIS FIRST HOMER THIS SPRING!! A three run homer gives them the 5-2 lead, then Leo Nunez will come in and shut the door, as the Nats win 5-2.
