The Braves want to get a little speed and get some cap space so they offered Daisuke Matsuzaka for Emilio Bonfifacio. There will be a notification on who will take the 3B spot. Daisuke Matsuzaka had a few control problems in '08 and '09 and had an injury and put him on the DL last year. Now he has to prove that he is still a good pitcher. He will take over number 3 in rotation. Now Sean Hill the previous number 5 pitcher will be sent down to triple a in the regular season. Nationals get: Braves get: Red Sox and Nats go down to Business Red Sox accepted an offer, the fourth transaction for this young Nats team. Nats exchange Veteren CF/RF Ken Griffy Jr. and rookie elidgible CF Sam Flud for RF/LF Jack Cust. This was a move the manager commented "We needed younger veterens so we traided our forty year old and rookie 28 year old for a 30 year old." The Nationals should be pleased with the traids and hopefully they can compete in the season better than last year. Nationals get: Red Sox get: The New Alignment SP Daisuke Matsuzaka taking SP Sean Hill's Place and will be third in the rotation. 2B/SS Emanuel Burris taking SS posision from INF Alexis Castilla and Castilla will play 3B RF/LF Jack Cust will play LF and OF John Mayburry Jr. will play CF. fatcowxlive Posted April 13, 2010 Author Share Posted April 13, 2010 Fielder Hits Two Homers in the 3-2 Win Over the Mets in the First Game of this Series! The Game Started off with a bang!! In the first inning with two out Fielder hits a solo bomb to left field to give the Nats the one nothing lead. In the forth same thing, a solo bomb to left to give the Nats the two run advantage. In the seventh, Castilla had a two out single, and Emanuel Burris walks, Then comes Buster Posey and he'll hit one to right and Castilla will score, 3-0 for the Nationals. A.J Burnett threw 7 solid shutout innings, and the bullpen did it's job until the ninth. After a one out hit from Mauer off Leo Nunez, Carlos Pena will smash a two run bomb to left and it will be 3-2. Then Pedro Feliz will hit a two out double, then Mark Ellis will strand him and Nunez hangs on for the save. fatcowxlive Posted April 20, 2010 Author Share Posted April 20, 2010 Castilla makes a big debut as the Nationals down the Phillies 6-2 It was opining day for Nationals park and the Nationals, and the Nats look to take the win. It all started in the 4th after a single by Man-Ram, Victor Martinez hits a double to left field past Jack Cust which brought in Manny. Then the Nationals come back for revenge, after two singles from hill and fielder and Jack Cust advancing Hill on a sac fly, Nelson Cruz smashes a double to score in one run. Then Alexis Castilla get his first MLB Hit driving in two, they lead 3-1. In the Fifth after an Aaron Hill single, Fielder will leave the ballpark for a two run bomb. Then Jack Cust went back-to-back with a solo shot, Nats lead 6-1. Then after the bullpen came in, Manny Delcarmen will leave the game after allowing two hits. B.J Ryan looked to clean the mess but will give an RBI double to Morneau which scores Mayben. Nats Lead 6-2. Then in the bottom of the inning Fielder hits his second bomb of the day, a solo shot and they were up 5 runs. Then after Leo Nunez loaded the Bases he will get a ground out to end the game, Nats win 7-2. Those two players are Emanuel Burris and Juan Castro. This will make the two time World Series winner the leadoff hitter and starter at short stop. Aaron Hill was pleased to see him back as teammates even after the concussion he gave aaron back in '08 leaving him out of the team.
