MVP Baseball 2005 Stadiums

After visiting the official website (www.mvpbaseball2005.com), there was a link ti the screenshots to the "re-done" stadiums. One thing they did do is keep up to date with the name changes. Also, if you are wondering, there is RFK Stadium (pretty basic though). I'll admit, they do look better, and I especially noticed in Pittsburgh the better background of the city, and the lighting/shadows are awesome, but EA still left out a few things:

1) Comerica Park doesn't (as far as I can see) have the moved in LF wall. I can't tell you how many bals I've hit off of the wall in MVP 04, that probably would have been homers had the fence been fixed.

2) U.S. Cellular field doesn't have the black fences that they switched to last year.

3) I think Yankee Stadium has a white 408 ft mark in CF. It shoudl be black (or maybe it's the opposite way around)

Also, what's with the MLBPA logos down the 1st and 3rd baselines? I know they were there in MVP 04 too. Must be part of the contract. No stdium has those.

Anybody notice anything else or like to see fixed from MVP 04?

Not a huge deal, but I noticed that the dirt path from the pitchers mound to home plate is missing at Bank One again this year. Too bad they couldn't incorporate that into the stadium.

But on a positive note, it appears from the Safeco screen shot that they took out the trees from beyond center field (which were left in the game last year even though the M's removed them in 2003). So that's progress - especially with the retractable roof feature! Yay!

Can stadium modders add the dirt path? I failed to notice that (and I live in Arizona, but I am not a D'Backs fan since I am from California).

Yeah if they can redo the grass texures on the infield they should be able to add the dirt

Adding the dirt path would involve using OEdit and altering the 3D model. It's probably possible but would require quite a bit of work.

With the way they've got the Red Sox logo on the infield grass this year, I'm not sure that will be true anymore. It may be possible to simply edit the sprite used for the infield.

Although I guess it'd be a lot better if OEdit were used, and the path actually had the characteristics of dirt instead of grass.

Looks like they still have not added the flagpoles in left-centerfield at PNC park. They didn't put any add on the outfield wall either. It would have been really neat if they were able to add a little smoke coming from behind the green wall in center field where Manny Sanguillen's Bar-B-Que pit is located....

I'm with the RedSoxFan7, they really have not done a great job of editing the stadiums.

However, a lot of you are forgetting the game is still at least two months away from release (I think). A lot can change from now and then.

And have you all forgotten modding??? The modders here can do 10X the job EA Sports can and they will! Be patient, the stadiums will be awesome!!!

It looks like they did an excellent job re-doing Fenway Park. It looks like they copied EZorn as best they could, and added some more stuff to the background.

I can tell from the screenshot of US Cellular there are still a few problems there. As mentioned, the fences are not black- and I'm sure that means the retired no. players (just like Dodger Stadium) will not be there. Also, the scoreboard doesn't have the correct wider jumbotron screen.

These problems are the only two visible from the screenshot, but it's not encouraging for the full stadium. I'm concerned it won't have the entirely new roof design they changed last season. Also, I wonder if they will have the color of the seats changed from blue to green as the Sox are doing this year. And the team is renovating its left-field concourse to feature a new "practice area" for kids (they call it Fun-damentals) which I'm sure will be visible during play- and I severely doubt this will be in this MVP.

C'mon!

Nobody cares about a friking Bar-B-Que place! SBC has a lot for fast food joints, but I don't care!

Oh my god, the on-deck circles are at least 4 feet out of position at Jacobs Field.

EA, I cannot believe how lazy and pathetic you are. I can't believe you expect people to buy your product when you let such massive errors go unnoticed year after year. I hope no one buys any of your games and you go bankrupt. I've had enough.

(Hey, that was fun.) Though I do take a moderate amount of joy from watching people manage to spot insanely minute details in low-res screenshots. Good work, I guess?

Golly. That was easy.

NYM, dear, I was being facetious. I also think EA has done a capital job in this game, especially on the stadiums, and I'm looking forward to playing the game.

As I feared, US Cellular is not even close to accurate. The color of the outfield walls is wrong and they don't have the retired numbers- but that doesn't bother me too much. This year's renovations (green seats, new left-field concourse) have not been added, but even that doesn't bother me...

What bothers me is they didn't even try to make the roof renovations! The new roof was in place ALL OF LAST SEASON! How hard would that have been?! But since they didn't do it, it probably is something that can't be modded! So now, the Cell we play with will be two years old!

Damn EA. I am very disappointed.

Here's some advice. If you see something that you don't like in the game, learn how to fix it. There are a very few things that can not be fixed. Just take the time to learn how to do it. Can we please quit complaining and use all of this time to learn something new that will help the entire community. The wall color would take me about 15 minutes, at the most, to fix. So, is the grand scheme of things, is it really that big of a deal?
