roadranger
i'm using mvp edit and the mvp'08 mod, but i can't get the photos to show up in mvp edit since i've changed from the regular mvp 2005 to the mvp '08 mod. i've changed the different option settings, but it still shows 'can't find photo' or some message like that in the editor
MysteriousGuy
Try re-installing MVPedit. I had that problem too
Jim825
In the Options menu, did you make sure that "Show Player Portrait" was checked? More importantly, in the window on the left of the Options menu, did you make sure that you were pointing to the proper data folder? Here is what my settings look like when I'm editing TC10 rosters: Note that I have the options to display both portraits and faces enabled. More importantly, in the window on the left of the Options menu, did you make sure that you were pointing to the proper data folder? Here is what my settings look like when I'm editing TC10 rosters: Note that I have the options to display both portraits and faces enabled. i uninstalled mvpedit and reinstalled it. i made sure the options and directory were like your illustration, i tried loading 3 or 4 different rosters, i tried both data and database in the directory, i've tried numerous different teams and players. it always shows "searching for picture" and then "no picture found". i'm using the mvpmods'08. the photos came up fine when i was using the standard mvp '05, but i can't get them to show up since i changed to the mvpmods'08. MysteriousGuy
What is the EXACT name of the folder where you installed MVP08? C:\Program Files (x86)\EA SPORTS\MVP Baseball 2005 And mvpedit is in: C:\Program Files (x86)\MVPedit
Jim825
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA SPORTS\MVP Baseball 2005 And mvpedit is in: C:\Program Files (x86)\MVPedit All I can tell you is that on the MVPEdit Tools->Options screen, the MVP Baseball Data Directory must point to C:\Program Files (x86)\EA SPORTS\MVP Baseball 2005\data and you must make sure that the icon next to the data folder shows an open folder. See the screenshot a few posts above this one. If you did all this and the portraits still do not display, I'm not sure what to tell you.

kgbaseball
It's possible his portrait.big got corrupted during the 08 install.
Jim825
The folder where the program(s) is located This is beginning to feel a lot like Abbot & Costello's "Who's on First" sketch..... The MVPEdit folder should contain all of the files that are part of MVPEdit. The MVP2005 folder should have all of the files that make up the game. I can't make it any simpler than that. KG suggested that perhaps your portrait.big file got corrupted when you installed the MVP08 mod. When you play the game, do the portraits show up? roadranger
i'm not sure about the corrupted portraits.big file, you might be right, but here are the files in my easports/mvp2005/data file other than the basic folders - credits.tsv, FEENG.LOC, IGENG.LOC, initprgz.big, initstaz.big, mat.o, models.big, and profiles.big. the following are the files in the database folder: attrib.dat, bstats.dat, career.dat, careerp.dat,fbstats.dat, his.dat, lhattrib.dat, lhbstats.dat, manager.dat, org.dat, pitcher.dat, progress.dat, pstats.dat, resign.csv, rhattrib.dat, rhpstats.dat, ROOKIE.BIG, roster.dat, schedule.big, team.dat, and tstat.dat as i mentioned in my original post, photos were coming up fine when i was using the original mvp 2005, but never would show up after i installed mvpmod'08. someone had mentioned, about a year ago or so, that the mvpmod'08 was such a large file that mvpedit couldn't handle it, but it seems as though everybody else has no problem with the photos showing up in mpvedit using mvpmod'

roadranger
this is really frustrating. i've never had any problems with getting the photos to show up in mvpedit before i installed the mvp'08 mod. yesterday, i uninstalled and deleted everything on my computer that had to do with mvp2005 and mvpedit. i reinstalled mvp2005 and finally got the game to come up normally and not show the mvp'08 screen. i re-downloaded and installed mvpedit, imported the .dat files from the data/database in the game, loaded the roster, made sure i had the 'show player portrait' and 'show player face' checked, and tried both the data & database and i get the same thing as before - it shows 'searching for picture', then it shows 'no picture found'. Are you sure you're pointing MVPedit to the right data folder? In MVPEdit, click Tools > Options. And direct it to C:\Program Files\EA Sports\MVP Baseball 2005\data: (or 1994, 1998, 2008, etc.) as long as it's MVP XXXX\data.

roadranger
dylan, yes, i have it pointed in the directory as pictured. i've tried it in both data and database and it comes up the same. as i mentioned in my other post, i've been using mvpedit ever since i bought mvp baseball 2005 and it worked fine. when i installed mvp'08 mod, the portraits haven't showed up since. that's why i decided to uninstall and delete everything associated with mvp baseball 2005, mvpedit, and all of the downloaded files i had regarding portraits, tools, rosters, and all other mods for mvp2005 and start over.
