I know my way around photoshop, just never made a sig. I was going for a nice clean look. Damn,if I had Photoshop my sigs would be so much better than they are now. What program are you using? The gimp is pretty powerful. I have a usb stick with knoppix and I use the gimp when I don't have access to photoshop. It should be fine for sigs. For everyday tasks, no it's not that big of a deal. I feel like I could make the sig I made in either program with no problem. Photoshop is the king, but the gimp is a good substitute.
