Sigs

Fred, to answer your question...first of all, to get transparency, at least for now, you need to save your images as a .GIF. The problem with GIFs is that it only has a capability of 256 colors - the colors aren't set, like "you can only use this red", it's really just 256 colors from your image, and anything else close to that is changed to the picked red.

Internet Explorer displays .PNG's with a light blue background (which is one of the many things people hate about it), so that won't work either. I know my avatar has that background in IE - I haven't gotten around to changing it.

So back to the sig. You need to get the background color of where your sig will be displayed - the easiest way is to take a screenshot of the page. I'm not at the computer with Photoshop right now, so I took a look at the CSS stylesheet for this site and the color you need to use is #EFEFEF. Just set that as your background color and you'll be all set.

Here's a sig i just made. Got in the mood, lol:

johan.jpg

This font is wierd in the fact that when you capitalize a letter it shows up backwards in the same size as lowercase, which is why I just type it like this, "johan santana"

And I thought having two advanced classes and a for sure D class was bad!

Next year though, for one of my electives I will most definitly take Web Design

My furture high school offers a computer graphic art class where Photoshop CS2 is PROVIDED. How cool is that. I'll be taking that next year and maybe I can whip up some sigs to finally post in this thread...

fred13 - when you have the pattern finished, go to Edit>Define Pattern (or something similar)...it doesn't matter what you save it as. Then you can do a pattern overlay or go to Layer>New Fill Layer>Pattern and select your pattern.

I think I pictured everyone as being older because I automatically associate people's avatars and sigs with them. For example, I think DUnit looks like Bubba Crosby and JoeyMcM93 looks like Barry Zito.

i thought of that when i saw marks sig
