So i finally was able to get mvp baseball 2005. And i just wanted to ask what would be the best roster mod. I look at the list of files but there are a ton of them and not sure which one i should download.

Thanks in advance.

The best one is probably KG's roster update (7.31). It's very outdated (September 11/31, 2009 I believe), and because of that, the ratings/stats/salaries are outdated as well. But it's the best all-around one. He's supposedly working on one that should be out soon, but no word yet on whether it involves just player movement or the whole nine yards.

Anyways, like I said, it's the best one if you're OK with it being outdated. I can't speak for the new ones - some have been critisized for being biased/inaccurate, others there's been no feedback. KG's have been near-perfect every year, so I'm content waiting for his update. If you're looking for accuracy as of this season, your best bet is to just do trial-and-error. I'm not sure if you'll have crashing/facepack issues though. Anything like this is solved with KG's stuff, as it gets released more or less at the same time.

Is there a way to get these rosters to work?

Anytime I try to use a roster mod, the game crashes.

Is there any workarounds?

KG's rosters always work. You are doing something wrong.

He might be using the plus version of KGs roster without using the plus version of the face pack.

All that may be true in what you said about KG's roster set but you can also try out grmrpr1313's rosters or Willy Bling's rosters or the TL roster set.

So there are choices.

Speaking of which, can you attest to either of these three? I'd like to get back into my MVP groove in the meantime while KG is working on his. The biggest problem with my current rosters are the outdated ratings. Just off the top of my head, Adam Lind and Jason Heyward are something like 55/52 against righties for power/contact, which is obviously low given their stats/talent.

I sent a PM to grmrpr1313 asking if the ratings were updated, but he didn't give a straight answer. Any idea if the other two are accurate in terms of transactions and ratings?

You could use my rating calculators to adjust the discrepancies. Not many people realize this but that was what they were originally designed for, adjusting discrepancies or making small updates.

It has to be Mvp 08 because there is no 09.

I usually do. It's a great tool(s, since I've got like 3), I use it to get an idea of where they should be. But if I start doing one team, I'll get paranoid/OCD and have to do it for all 30. For some reason, I get on and off crashes using MVP Edit, as well as the occasional in-game crash when I try to edit players. Otherwise, I'd sit here all day and edit everyone and post something here for everyone to try out. Mine are KG's anyways, just with, what I believe, are more accurate stances/deliveries and minor stuff like bat and glove colours and such. Also, not sure if KG would be happy/allow anyone to just use his rosters with minor tweaks made to it anyways.

Yeah I am putting up my new version today it has all of the minors completed as of April 23, 2010. Then all stats updated for 2009 for all MLB & AAA players. AA & A I only updated players who played in Majors.

All Lineups are correct for MLB Minors I just went off of different Box Scores to find some. Rotations are all set for MLB & AAA AA & A I went off of Boxscores.

Edited many players to this year like Austin Jackson, Sizemore, Heyward, Strasbourg, Boecsh to name a few.

Enjoy

Nice to see some guys in there. A few factual errors (ie Heyward batting and throwing the wrong way), but I like the additions of Strasburg, Storen, etc.

Question for you, though. Why do guys like Heyward have 1-star potential?
