Camby
I'm having trouble updating my rosters within the game. I am unable to get the reset roster funcion under roster management in the game to work properly. I was using ar_key's TL roster 2010, but I was having problems with stability. I've tried to re-load my previous rosters (KG's 2009) but cannot get the game to recognize the new roster. I've never had this problem before. I've tried uninstalling, deleting any remaing MVP files in C/program files/EA Sports and C/documents/MVP 05, reinstalling, importing KG's roster into MVPedit and exporting to C/program files/ EA Sports/MVP 2005/data/database, then loading the game and clicking Reset Rosters. According to the date stamps, the export from MVPedit was successful, but no matter what I do, I can't seem to get the game to recognize the new rosters. I'm always stuck with the TL roster 2010, even on a fresh install. I've installed patch #5, but no other mods. I'm not using a crack.exe. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My humble specs: Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 32 bit Celeron 1.6 GHz 1 GB ram on board graphics card (not sure about the specifics)
MarkB
My God. It appears that someone has actually read the "Read this first" thread before posting. Camby, I thank you, sir. From the bottom of my heart. As for the issue, it sounds like MVPEdit isn't exporting the rosters to the correct location, but that's obviously being contradicted by the date-stamps on the files and the fact that you are exporting to the correct folder, so I doubt it's that. The only thing I can think of right now is that you might actually have more than 1 version of MVP installed, and when launching the game, it's running from the other install instead of the one you're exporting to. The fact that the issue is still occurring after deleting the game files in your Documents and Program Files folders also supports this. I'd check the location that your shortcut to MVP points to, and do a search on your system for any files named mvp2005.exe to see if you have it any in another folder. Camby
Mark, thanks for the response. I tried your suggestions, unfortunately, I've been unable to resolve the issue. The MVP shortcut points to the correct file location and there is only one mvp2005.exe present (same location) when using the Windows search function. I also searched to see if there was a roster.sav file lurking somewhere causing the problem. No luck. I'm baffled. It just doesn't seem to make sense that the game would continue to load data that (theoretically) doesn't even exist on my machine, while also not loading the updated files in the game's data/database folder. Thanks, again.
MarkB
In that case, I'm absolutely baffled. MVP is somehow loading rosters which apparently don't exist on your system. Hopefully someone with an idea will see the thread, because I don't know what to tell you. Sorry man.
dechico2006
I'm having the same problem. I actually deleted all files from the data/database folder other than (resign, progress, ROOKIE.big, and schedule) and it STILL runs with the same rosters. What the heck???
