Editing My Player

I switched postions in my player from 3rd base to shortstop and my player was left handed. Once I moved him, it made him right handed. I know that some position you have to be right handed to play. So, I moved my player back to 3rd base and he is still right handed. If I try to change him back to left handed (with the in game editor)that option is greyed out and cannot be changed, any suggestions how to make the change back?
