Well, EA cant affliliate with Microsoft now and Take Two better put out ONE HELL OF A GAME!!

The ONLY saving grace is that maybe some how that EA discontinues it's baseball division(why would they keep them on payroll) and the guys who worked on it get hired by Microsoft or someone else...but thats prolly a stretch

Ya know what I hate seeing certain companies to not be able to make games it sucks.... but in a way atleast VC is allowing other first party companies to make games... if EA got it that would be the only baseball game out... and although many of you love MVP (I like every baseball game and get everyone and play the "best" one the most) its better to have options than be forced only one product...

Well, as much as they say they have a right to the PC version of the games, even if they do put one out, if it's anything like the ESPN MLB games it will suck massive. Considering they just got around to adding a timing based system, and their graphics look entirely cartoony and unrealistic, I'd say we're heading for a dearth of quality games.

I hate monopolies and "exclusives" and all that bull. Even though EA is an evil corporation that works its employees to the bone, they do damn good work.

Remember this version of Espn baseball is their first attempt... made it from the ground up alot like Mvp did a few years ago. Yes their graphics arnt looking exactly awesome ( mainly faces, everything else looks good) but I have to say Mvp seems to have more toonish graphics that anyone... They use similar models as madden and I am just sick of those.... I am suprised they arnt made by Nintendo and have the name Mario somewhere on it.Now dont get started saying ... i am this or that.. I love all sports games and own Mvp and Espn... I think Mvp will be better this year and then ofcourse no Mvp but I think Espn will do ok.. and Sony's Mlb is shaping up very nicley... IMO VC makes the best basketball, hockey games.... so i think they will be good with baseball... Madden is king in fb and well we have no other choice i guess... but things could be worse.. and besides if Mvp dosnt make newer version hopefully 2005 is good enough where modding will make it last a few years for the pc... High Heat has had a solid group of followers and they just keep on modding.... Like I said I rather have the choice of Sega's, Sony's, and Nintendos... heck maybe even a Microsoft one evetually.. than just having MVP....

I guess the only hope now is that EA makes another version of MVP at the end of this year based on the 2005 season while they still have a licence.

They did this with their Formula 1 racing game after Sony got the exclusive, they made f1 2002 and then released 'f1 99-02' just before their licence expired

That would be cool..... I have to say I do like the idea of different versions of baseball games to come out at different parts of the year like Vc is suggesting.. thats kinda cool... Something to hold over till the next years sim title comes to the plate.

You know what's going to be funny, is when EA owns the rights to the NHL, NFL, AFL, NBA, Nascar, and every other major sport. Then where will Take Two be, right gack to GTA and that's it. They're gonna dig themselves a whole they can't get out of!!

I hope Take 2 falls on their face and go under. 7 years of their crap is going to really suck. At least, there is a chance that one of the 1st party guys will make something good.

 That makes a lot of sense. I think it would be a heck of a lot more logical to hope for the best out of Take 2 since they are now the lone third-party developer. Why would you want any company to put out a bad game?

I am disappointed about these exclusive deals as well, more so about NFL because I highly preferred the NFL 2K series to the Madden series. But do I want Madden 2006 to suck? Of course not. 8)

cant like EA buying the Nfl and then VC for stopping EA.... either you hate both or none..... if EA bought baseball no other company would be able to make a baseball game... Personally I think EA is the worse of the two because they dont allow other to make NFL games... yeah it sucks but I hope every game that comes out is good and at least in baseball we still have a choice....

What I don't understand is why if anyone attacks ESPN games we are labeled EA Fanboys. yes, we are EA fans, awesome observation, that's why we buy the damn games. It's a huge double-standard for ESPN "fanboys" to attack EA people for simply saying that ESPN games suck(if they truly feel they do) But if the ESPN "fanboy" attacks EA they are some video game martyr for standing up to big ole' EA

ESPN Baseball blew and MVP, even with it's imperfections, was heads and shoulders above the former. That is my opinion. I don't understand why they like ESPN Baseball so much but that's their opinion and so be it.
Actually, I preferred MVP last year. MVP, despite its shortcomings, was the only game I owned. Might not want to assume next time.

But just because MVP was the better game last year doesn't mean that always has been or always will be the case.

Well like trues said, Lets enjoy this while we can. My pre-order for mvp baseball 2005 is still scheduled and I plan on picking it up on launch date. And if this is ea's last "MVP" series baseball game I'll be happy and glad to say that I own MVP Baseball 2003, 2004, 2005. Lets get this season started allready! :)
