Hey guys, game has been working great, until my computer started not rebooting. It then restored from a previous point, but since then my game has given me an error that says, "MVP 05 requires Directx9 and hardware acceleration software. " I've installed the newest version of directx, but my computer will not recognize it i don't think. I'd like to uninstall directx and reinstall, maybe that could do it? Any ideas?

It means that out of nowhere it would acted like a had an unsafe shut down and It wouldn't reboot. Only way i could get it to reboot was when i finally got it to restore from a previous point. I guess, how do i uninstall it if my cpu doesn't give me the option and when i download the newer version the game fails to acknowledge i updated it. I just tried completely reinstalling the game. Didn't work.

What does "my computer started not rebooting" mean?

Try reinstalling your video card drivers, if that still doesn't work, update them.

Yeah...I was really looking for a bit more information from you in that post. No-one, myself included, can help without useful information. The reason I linked you to the "Read This First" thread was because I was hoping you'd read it and post the information requested in it because it would help us to diagnose the problem. That's why it's called "The Support Forum - Read This First". Of course, some people don't read it first before posting, and this is how threads like this happen.

If your system isn't rebooting, then, quite frankly, you have a hell of a lot more to worry about than not being able to play MVP. Rebooting is the act of your computer turning off, then back on again, without losing power. It's also known as a restart. I still have no idea what kind of environment your PC is in right now. A CPU doesn't give you, or anyone else, any options. Your CPU is a chip - Central Processing Unit. It is not your whole PC, it is not your hard drive, it does not contain Windows.

You don't need to uninstall anything. The above post said "Try reinstalling your video card drivers, if that still doesn't work, update them." The installer for the drivers should, depending on the manufacturer and model of your video card, which we still don't know, detect that they're already installed and give you various options to either reinstall them, remove them, or repair the install.

If the issue is with your drivers or DirectX configuration, reinstalling the game won't do anything. It still relies on core Windows files and video card drivers in order to display the graphics. You can't drive a car without an engine.

Hey guys, sorry for the bad description, but thank you for the help. When my computer restored from a previous restore point it went to a point where I didn't have my drivers all reinstalled. I reinstalled my Video card driver from Dell and MVP is back up and running. Thanks again and in the future i'll try to have better descriptions.

Great, glad you got it worked out. I didn't mean to come off too harshly in my previous post, but a good idea of what the issue is means we can get it sorted a whole lot quicker. :)

Either way, good to know it's up and running again. :good:
