Ranking Your Favorite Sports Teams

Across all sports, the teams/people I would most like to see win a championship. So, effectively, I would trade a championship for a #4 seed to see a #3 win. It's harder than you may imagine, depending on how many sports you follow.

1). Red Sox

2). BMW Oracle Racing (America's Cup)

(2b. a hypothetical good US-born Formula 1 driver)

3). Celtics

4). Cleveland Indians

5). Manchester City

6). Boston Blazers (lacrosse)

7). US Soccer (World Cup)

8). Scuderia Ferrari (Formula 1)

9). Bruins

10). Villanova Basketball

11). New England Revolution

12). Ryan Hunter-Reay (Indycar)

13). Barcelona FC (La Liga)

14). Joey Logano (Nascar)

15). Galatasaray (Turkish Lig)

4. Toronto Argonauts (CFL)

5. Buffalo Bills

6. Toronto Raptors

NB: Also, there's like a thousand points between 2 and 3.

1. Minnesota Vikings

2. New York Yankees

3. Boston Celtics

4. U.S. World Cup team

5. New England Revolution

I would be willing to see teams 2 - 5 have losing seasons if it meant the Vikings could win the Super Bowl!

The NFL needs to add a team to Toronto so you can have a clean sweep..... ;)

Cubs....Duh

Blackhawks... Our most realistic shot this year

Indiana University

Chicago Bulls.... Forget LeBron, give me Bosch and Joe Johnson instead... Less star power, more depth of talent.

Chicago Bears... Honestly could happen sooner than the rest of the list (other than the Blackhawks).

I'm really looking forward to the series against the Sharks. It can go either way... Hawks has the youth and speed, Sharks has the size and experience.

It's gonna be fun.

The only reason the Vikings top my list is because they have never won a championship. They've come close a number of times, but they always stab me in the heart and find a way to lose. Just once in my lifetime, I'd like to see them win it all. Had they won at least one Super Bowl, the Yankees would have been at the top of the list.

Yeah, I seem to recall January 9th, 1977. Tell our users in here what happened on that Sunday so long ago. :drinks:

Those were the Vikings I remember. Tarkenton, Foreman, Page, Eller, Sammy White, etc.

Wasn't John Gilliam somewhere in there too?

If I recall correctly, Raiders wide receiver Fred Biletnikoff cheated his way to the Super Bowl MVP by applying liberal amounts of "Stickum" to his hands, giving him an unfair advantage and making it easier to catch the football. I also seem to remember that running back Mark van Eeghen also used it as well. If the Raiders had played fairly, I'm sure the Vikings would have hoisted the Lombardi trophy that day. Don't you agree? :)

Here's an ESPN article about the Raiders affinity for Stickum and how at least one player became a mere mortal without it: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/cheat/news/story?id=2957892
