jg2977
I think it looks good. I love the ESPN style presentation. It adds a lot to the realism.
JaFFiTh
Errm....the graphic's horrible, but the gameplay's alright. In my opinion, i like how the infielders handle the ball, that's probably the best animation i've seen, but the rest, horrible..they need A LOT of work. WinnieThePujols
Wow, watching those videos just made me realize how much I'll miss MVP next year......Good thing when a bat makes contact with a ball in real life it sounds like a 12 guage going off......... hoserthehorrible
I thought the graphics were decent except for the player faces, they're crap. I also though the shotgun sound effects were way over done. The throwing animations looked way off too. And, for all the crap MVP gets about a lack of balls and walks I didn't see to many 5 or 6 pitch at bats. In fact, I think most at bats were 2 or 3 pitch at bats. On the positive side the ESPN presentation was very cool, the announcing seemed pretty polished, and I liked the replays. I'm still undecided about the pitching interface. It might be pretty decent but I think just because it's different I haven't accepted it yet. I'm not too sure about the behind the baserunner camera angle either. I didn't like it too much but then again it might be because I'm just not use to it. I still think MVP is a better game. I think MLB 2006 is a better game as well. I'd have to rank MVP and MLB about a dead heat with take Two's game bringing up the rear in 3rd.

WinnieThePujols
The commentary should be this....... "And here's the pitch.... Oh my god everyone down there's a shooter on the stands!!! Nevermind, it was just a basehit to right field......"

Lots of good things going on in the videos, but a few issues popping up as well. I think it will be a solid first effort for Kush, setting up a very good 2K6 effort. The one thing I'm not sure I agree with you on is the length of the at-bats. I'm guessing IGN played the game on a low difficulty (they are notorious for this) which undoubtedly played a factor. NYM
that was the coolest sound for a bat......if it had a shotgun inside it. IT SUCKED. the only thing good about that game was the scorebox in ESPB stly but thats it. The faces look worse then MVP 2004, the swing looked bad.....it looked off or somthing. the pitching was so stupid, the graphics were horrible. and well it pretty much sucked. o yea there was only one other thing i liked and that was the backround of the city. i dont know about you guys but unless they do not do some serious changing in there game i am buying MLB 2007. That doesnt look bad one bit. but then again T2 will find a way to get rid of that game 2 becuase im sire most MVP people will go to MLB 2007. they just dont get it....they suck big floppy donkey [naughtyword]
mooseknucks
I am not going to buy anything T2P puts out for computer. I'm going to stick with 2005 and mod rosters every year.

Three obvious reasons why that won't happen: 1) 989 is part of Sony. Take Two needs Sony's support, so they aren't going to pull their MLB game out from under them. 2) MLB is PS2 only, so even if a bunch of former MVP players migrate over to that game, Take Two will get their sales. 3) 989 still has the MLB license for a couple more years. Kccitystar
Not one damn thing. Me either. But the thing is, the company that made MLB 2K5 is actually Take Two Interactive.

donjn
Hmmm......I'll miss MVP Baseball next year! I'll stick with MVP Baseball 2005 until a better baseball game comes out. I agree completely. MVP has revolutionized the batter/pitcher interface for me. I cant play a game without throw meters now. MVP = FUN. Thats what it is all about folks. ESPN has these long, lanky models with small heads, zombie faces, turtlenecks, and players that catch baseballs in the palm of their mitts (ouch) and throw balls with the palms of their hands instead of the fingertips. Not to mention I cant get through 3 innings without being bored. Listen, I know some pitchers take time between deliveries but do we REALLY need to have a pitcher stand there with the ball in their hands shaking off signals for 10 seconds between pitches in a VIDEO GAME? Who would have thought that EA, the people that started the Home Run camera view, would be the only ones not using it anymore, thereby keeping the suspense of long fly balls intact. MVP is all I will play for years. Although I will give Nintendo Pennant Race a shot! lol
