endeavor
I hope MVP 2005 has fixed the annoying graphic issues. - Stuttery gameplay - Game pauses - Choppiness It drives me crazy. I have ALL the EA games and it's the only one with these issues. The article featuring an interview with one of the programmers, had explanations about the choppiness, etc. Things they did, amongst others, are i.e., take away the linesmen, for they were a huge factor in the stuttery gameplay, especially when the camera pans fast, after a foul ball and such. According to them, of course, hehe, MVP 2005 will have the smoothest gameplay ever.
wilmer007
The first thing i want to get fixed is the problem with Nvidia Video Cards where you can't Alt+Tab out of the game. I have NBA Live 2005 and i can Alt+Tab just fine so if it works for NBA Live why should it not for MVP Baseball.

winkweb
this probably was answered somewhere else but what are the recomended system specs for 2005? Last years game worked great for me once a modified data file came out fixing the choppiness.
samoggi
2 Questions. What does Alt- Tab do? My system is a P4 3.4gig 1G Ram 9800 ATI 256MB Still some choppiness....... Anyone else with a good system having these issue?
Filthy57
Alt+Tab minimizes the game screen so you can do something else. If your game also gets interrupted by something else and is minimized, your game is gone. In MVP '04, if you hit Alt+Tab, it minimizes the game but if you try to bring the game back up, it just goes away.
samoggi
Thanks Filthy! What system are you running and at what resoulution? I'm playing at 1600X1200 on a 9800 256MB P4 3.4G
olyrunner
Can someone please get me this link on the OS interview about game Choppiness?TIA Here it is: OS Interview The quote is this: Operation Sports: There were frame rate complaints on the PC and Xbox last year, has this been improved? Will we see 720p for the Xbox again this year? Ben Brinkman: One of our goals at the beginning of this project was to have a game that ran consistently at 60 frames per second. We met this goal on all platforms. I don’t know too many games that can say that. In doing so we had to make some sacrifices such as cutting base coaches. I know this is a “game killer†to some people but as a long time gamer I would take 60fps any day of the week over base coaches who are there to be nothing more than eye candy. A smooth playing game is the ultimate to me, but I could be wrong. Is that what you were looking for?

Anyone else with a good system having these issue? Samoggi, It is the game that runs choppy. Your system would run this flawless if the game ran at a consistent 60 FPS. samoggi
Will it run this way under any resoulution? What are you running it at? I find updating Video drivers, even make it worse.......Do you?
brewha202002
Will it run this way under any resoulution? What are you running it at? I find updating Video drivers, even make it worse.......Do you? If you have an ATI 9800 pro 256MB Video Card, you will not have any problem running this game at any resolution. Your video card is not causing the choppiness, it is the game itself that is choppy. I am assuming that you will see a BIG difference from MVP04 to MVP05. The Associate Producer claims that MVP05 will be running a a consistent 60 FPS which to the human eye will be flawless. I have a Nividia Geforce FX5900XT. Your 9800 pro is by far a better card then mine. I still have probelms with choppiness, but I am clearly convinced that it is the game itself, not the hardware. Usually Nividia is really good at updating drivers. I cannot speak on behalf of a ATI card because I have never owned one.
Cubs-Blew-It-Again
ATI has been very good with updating their driver software, ever since I got my ATI card about one or two years ago. The catalyst software has gone from several 3.something to 5.1 recently. Though, I have not noticed any visible changes from my first update to my latest update. If anything, the updates have degraded my performace, but I can't say for sure.
samoggi
This has been very informative. Thanks brewha202002. You've been great. I HOPE now that MVP 05 will run smooth. No flicks, and no stttttttutering! Keep those drivers updated boys, and lets hope for the best. If it helps anyone, I've noticed if you you set your AA to 2X AA it helps smooth thing just a bit, Anyone else?
Kccitystar
I use the 3.8 Catalyst Drivers because to me visually everything runs smooth. However, 5.2 can prove me wrong, and on top of that it's due next week.
spitoon
I know it's late for this, but if you have an Nvidia graphics card you might want to try enabling some AntiAliasing (in graphics card control panel). It dramatically smoothed out the choppiness on my machine while playing MVP 2004. I set mine to 2XQ, but you might be able to go higher if you have a more powerful machine.... samoggi
Im running a P4 3.4Gig Ati 9800 256mb and 1G Ram. Running at 1920X1400 resolution On a Dell Inspiron XPS Laptop with Dell's latest drivers for the ATI 9800........... I have the choppiness happening. I've tried different resolutions still the same affect. 2X AA turned on helps a bit, but not fully. I actually have more choppiness in the NL stadiums for some odd reason. Hoping MVP 05 will run better. Anyone else running high end and having problems? Or any other comments?
