roadranger
i haven't done my own mvp portraits for a couple of years, but used to do quite a bit of downloading from pressbox/headshots and editing them in photo shop. i can find my photoshop tutorial on how to do the .bmp and alpha portraits in photoshop, but can't find my tutorial on getting the photos in pressbox. i know it was a very long link followed by the player's mlb number

Pressbox has changed so you have to be a member to access the headshots. Good luck, though.

Good luck, though. dylan, you're right. when i try to logon with the email and password i used a couple of years ago, it won't let me access the headshots. i re-registered and now it gives me a "you have a mlb.com membership but can't access the secure items" or something to that effect. when i try to register on the pressbox site, it always refers me to the mlb.com site. when i try contacting mlb.com by phone, it tells me pressbox is separate from mlb.com and i need to contact them. i did get an email some time ago from pressbox stating i didn't meet their criteria, but after 3 or 4 emails and a couple of phone calls asking them "what criteria i didn't meet" because their's nothing on their site that gives any qualifications or criteria or fees, without any response. it's like a circle- when i try to register on the pressbox site, it gives me a mlb.com registration screen and refers me back to mlb.com

Unfortunately, if you don't get it right the first time, chances are you'll never have access to them.

emath2432
If memory serves me, it was just last year that it changed. I am not positive though, I just remember reading something about it here at the site. Could try Google images. Not always the greatest selection of quality pics, but I can usually find what I need. roadranger
everything has been working good now. i download some photos and edit the .bmp and alpha photos and insert them into mvpedit just like i used to. the only problem i'm having is every once in a while i can't get certain photos to change. it looks like some of these older photos that show up are a problem. bruce chen & manny ramirez to name a couple. also, if it doesn't show a portrait at all in mvpedit, i can't get a new one to show up. it only seems to work if there's an existing portrait. i tried just going to the free agents list and picking a number of a player that isn't playing anymore and using that photo. it works then, but only if i used the non-player's photo id instead of the current player's id. this would be fine, but my player id wouldn't match all of the player portrait id lists

Homer
if you do it that way, you might as well zip up the fsh files and have Tit install it for you automatically. it's quicker and cleanern
