osfan5891
Does vista have an issue with .gif files? If I'm online, say, on a message board and I see a funny .gif, the thing animates just fine on the site. If I go to save, however, the file only shows the first frame or image in the .gif and refuses to animate. I've tried opening them with other programs and such but to no avail. Does anyone know why .gifs won't animate in my Windows Photo Gallery? I think it might be a Vista thing, because they used to animate when I had XP. Can someone show me a solution? Thanks in advance. MarkB
Animated .GIF's aren't supported in Windows Photo Gallery, that's for Vista and Windows 7. Really, the fact that something doesn't work correctly in Vista isn't news. It shouldn't even be surprising, it's that much of a fail. You can open them in Firefox or Internet Explorer, but why Microsoft thought it was a good idea to remove functionality from the OS is baffling,
Maestro23
Yep, MarkB beat me to it. You can also get a little program called infraview. http://www.irfanview.com/
