jackcasper49
ok guys, it's a brand new year and I will be releasing my Real Baseball system again ... this year I am tied down a bit with a full-time job and won't have the free time to put in to make this set happen as quickly ... that's why this thread is here in the request section, because I am requesting a few things from you guys we all know our teams pretty well, and many of us are fanatical enough to know them up and down from A on up ... so, with that said, if I can get a bit of help in getting names and vitals and basic info in the game that would be great ... here's what I am asking: for your team give me the 100 players you expect to fill out the organization ... for each non-major league player give me the vitals and a few side notes .. for example: LF/OF - #41 Chris Snelling, L/L 5-10 165 12-3-81 ... white w/ blonde, clean ... gap hitter, solid player, five tools, not superstar, not dud the basic format is pos/sec pos - # Name B/T Ht Wt DOB ... skin tone hair, facial hair (other looks info) ... short info on how he plays the game for a pitcher it might look like: SP - #32 Cha Sueng Baek, R/R 6-4 190 5-29-80 ... oriental w/ black, clean ... fastball around 92, good curve, mixes a change if I can get even the most basic info for all levels of each team that would be great ... I intend to do the following on my own accord: adjust player movement up to Opening Day redo every major league baseball player's ratings based on literature and stats set the top prospects for each team on my own based on literature and stats adjust MLB contracts make needed tweaks to the game with any tools that can be unlocked with the editor (if provided) provide a working set of sliders with my roster set incorporate the info given to me by those posters who help up (and give them due credit per thier posting name) continue to update with more current and valid info as I go and as I gather more resources have within one week of Opening Day a current set and something I consider to be a release of 1.00 or better, no longer beta update as needed, but only to adjust for problems within the set, not to keep rosters current I will also: keep rosters current per trades, releases, signings, and such with an eye on releasing this set as an update next year if no PC baseball game can be found to suit or needs as a PC gaming community ... I will also, utilize TotalMinors as a reference with the permission of it's author ... I have always valued GeForce's work and felt that was the reason I was inspired a few years ago to take to making my own roster set I will also incorporate any valid mods that work for my set ... such as RRodkey's tune last year with SerialMike's adjustments but, I can only do so much this year, that's why I am looking for a bit of help to get me rolling ... feel free to cover a team that is already posted, but please make sure you really know your team and also do your research ... I have my own set from last year to work from, but a lot has changed and players have developed or faultered, been released, traded, signed elsewhere, jumped from A to AAA, from AA to MLB, or fallen off the face of the Earth ... I need some help deciphering your team, especially as Spring Training games get going, then the help will be needed as well ... don't be shy to get me some early information though thank you so much for your help

GForce22
I will also, utilize TotalMinors as a reference with the permission of it's author ... I have always valued GeForce's work and felt that was the reason I was inspired a few years ago to take to making my own roster set First, Jack, thanks a lot for the compliment. Regrettably, I will not be doing TotalMinors this year due to time constraints. I would either rush it and not have it up to my usual standards, or take too long to get it out and be worth anything. Good luck with your project. GH

olyrunner
If you are looking for a way to constructively pass the time between now and the release of the game, I've got a suggestion. Take a look at your favorite organization's prospects, and gather the information that jackcasper needs to make his 2005 Real Baseball System. He's got a spreadsheet that will most likely soon be available for you to use as a guideline. Until then, he's listed the requested information in his initial post. I've spent the better part of the weekend gathering information about the Mariners organization, and not only has it taken my mind off of the March 1st release date, it has helped me get to know my favorite team's prospects a little better. It's really a lot of fun! Not only will you learn about your favorite team, you'll also help jackcasper in his endeavor, which will in turn be your own contribution back to this MVPMods community. And if we can all work together to help him (rather than jackcasper having to do all the research on his own) the sooner you will all be able to enjoy the end product. Give it a try! jackcasper49
thanx for the input so far guys, it's been helpful ... the spreadsheet Olyrunner created will be adjusted and uploaded sometime later this evening and you can all download it and use it to send me some info ... I appreciate the links to sites like what you have given me so far, those are great as well, though the spreadsheet is actually more helpful because I can have the hard copy right here beside me as I work ... as far as a timeline, I will be releasing an early beta with the most basic stuff the week of release if rglass4 gets his editor out this year for us ... without the editor my project is indefinetly on hold, so that's a vital part of my work ... I want to have a set with next to no fake players in it ready for release around Opening Day and by one week after Opening Day have all the updated rosters and rotations set in what will be a solid, working version ... I will plan on updating throughout the year, though I may not release my work until after the season ends on the one that keeps transactions current (my goal is to have a set that needs minimal tweaking and mostly transactions to be ready for baseball season next year if the PC market is left blank) ... your help is important, it saves my sanity and will probably help me keep my job ... if I get a timeline from rglass4 on an editor I will be taking three to five days off around the release date (or when the editor will be ready) to work on my roster set hardcore!, so having as much info as possible at that time is crucial edit: the file is now avaliable at TPG and should be ready here shortly

poonani
i was planning on doing the entire yankees minor league system with portraits but hey, if i can help with a full roster thats fine with me too! I would just love to be able to start my dynasty by April rather than July/August like last year since Totalminors took so long to come out (and it was wonderful) then the portraits continuing to be updated over and over. ill post my work tonight. jackcasper49
my goal is to have a full working set near Opening Day ... obviously there will be tweaks and fixes all year long, but I will probably start my dynasty near Opening Day as well ... alot depends on the editor, the game format, and my working schedule ... but that's my goal ... the more help I get, the better my chance of succeeding
Cris987
I encourage everybody to bring up websites/reports like the ones above to the modders. It'd make all the roster mods (not only Real Baseball System) THAT MUCH BETTER! :D
jackcasper49
that's sure true Cris ... the more we have people bring to our attention the more accurate we can be .... that's equally so important that the more info I get up front the less revisions and the less updates and changes I have to make in the long run and the quicker many of you will be comfortable using my system to get rolling on your dynasty/season/whatever
