NY_Yankees
Possibly release expansions for MVP? It would probably only sell on the PC though... But think about it. T2 owns the MLB license in 2006. So EA's expansions could be like huge patches. Users would be responsable for updating rosters though, and the only thing that would be out of place would be the contracts. But I'm sure most of us here will be playing this for the next few years, regardless. So we'd be forced to continue our dynasty as is. Or they could add a feature where you can update your rosters during the dynasty. It would obviously mess your team up, but you have the option to do it or not. They could update the animations, graphics, gameplay, etc. All without touching the official MLB aspects. They could also further improve the dynasty/owner mode introducing new options, interface, CAP, etc. Beceause technically they're updating the baseball aspects, not the licensed. It would atleast give hope to MVP and it's future for when T2 looses the license. EDIT: We also wouldnt have to worry about new talent. There are plenty of users online who are capable of creating minor leaguers.
cable901
It could also be a great way to have new season schedules as the seasons progress, which I'd be a huge fan of.

NY_Yankees
I think this would be great, and it would be huge for the fans of this game. They could sell it in the stores for like $20, or online whatever. T2 really couldn't do anything about it. They could just say bug fixes and improvements w/o touching the license. I wonder if anyone at EA thought of this. If they did, I don't think they'd say it now, cause T2 might try to block it. But if EA checks with lawyers etc, and they get the green light, wow what away to stay on top.
LetsGoOakland
I really like this idea as it would keep the lifeline of MVP alive for them to pick it up again in however long Take Two's agreement lasts. However, I think it cannot be done. The fact that they would be profiting off a product that they no longer has the licensing for would be some sort of infringment on TT/VC's contract. NY_Yankees
But thats the beauty of it... All they'd be doing is revamping the interface, and gameplay without touching anything related to the MLB. T2 would obviously argue it. But EA could just say "We're selling improvements that don't infringe copyrights. You own the MLB license, but you don't own our gameplay and interface, which is all we are offering." Yankee4Life
NY_Yankees, seriously, why don't you send EA an e-mail and give them your idea? How could it hurt?

LetsGoOakland
Oh yeah, definitely hit them up about it. I am just asserting my concerns about the legality of it.
Yankee4Life
EA has a customer service email? 8O I don't really know. I never wrote them an e-mail but my guess would be that they do have a customer service email. In fact, if memory serves me right, MarkbtheYankee once talked to a EA representative when we both were on the old High Heat board. He had a problem with a game of his and they were very nice about it and helped him out. Give Mark a PM and ask him how he got in touch with them. NY_Yankees
I just sent them an email, and it said it would be directed to the appropriate team responsible. I seriously hope they read the emails, and take into consideration what fans have to say. If they have any pride in the game they created, why not go for a low blow to keep it alive. carter
Here's the thing - EA knows sites like this one exist. They know that we are all die-hard fans of the game. They know that we are here to fix their mistakes and to improve the game. So, if they were to put out a game full of John Dowd type players they know that we will fix it. They know that we can edit the names and add pictures. So, in 2006 I see a game with great gameplay, great graphics and a lower price coming to shelves near us all. The bottom line is that EA won't give up. They have put a lot of time and effort into the MVP franchise and they won't go down without a fight. NY_Yankees
I just sent it to the IGN Mailbag and hope that it gets answered for everyone to see. That way they get swamped with the idea, just like they did about the lefty bug. It's a long shot, but it's also very possible. I'm sure with the $ EA has, this type of option has probably already been brought to attention at meetings. Like you said, I did the best I could. It's their choice from here on out. Lets hope they make the good choice.
