9 inning mvp video

Even if they have a CPU Pitcher Control/Walks slider it's still possible it won't have as a significant effect on the game that we desire. I remember when EA implemented sliders in Madden. They were worthless.......Still, just the fact that they've created a Walks slider is an improvement over last year.

EA has been doing this for years.... the sliders will have minimal affect at best as they do in all EA games. I imagine that this slider will have no affect on human pitchers either so walks will only occur when you actually attempt to throw balls out of the zone like in 2004. I am not getting my hopes up for this one at all as EA will probably drop the ball again and it will be up to the modders as usual to make this game semi-realistic. EA's track record is proven, so I doubt this game will be much of an improvement over 2004. They probably spent more time working on those colored balls than on actual the gameplay enhancements.

Stating your opinion is childish? I'll need to note that one.

And I suggest you learn to use commas and exclamation marks correctly.

I can see how important there opinions are to you so I won't bother to reason with you. Their comments seem chilidish to me and that is my opinion!

Thanks for the grammar lessons!

As far as the walk issue is concerned, that area is and has always been an aspect that can only be differientiated by the player himself. Obviously, the person who was playing the game either suffered from no patience or was hurried along in getting the game done which makes sense, right?

If you are patient, you can expect to get walks. I noticed in one game last in 04' when I actually made an effort to try and take pitches, I ended up getting 3 walks which is 3 more than I usually get unless I am intentionally walked.

And for the gameplay, it does basically look exactly like last year with a few new animations but the thing I am most disappointed in is the announcing. It's the exact same monotenous and unmotivating announcing ever!

I imagine a large part of it was the low quality of the video for this non-IGN insider, but did anyone notice anything about the hitter's eye color coding of pitches? I tried watching for it, and I couldn't see anything about it. Also, it looks like the guy playing the game in the demo wasn't very experienced with the game at all. Did you see his left fielder diving near the wall on the Jays double that scored the first run of game? There were several other instances of his lack of experience, like the fact that he swung at everything.

Also, you can tell it's the Xbox version because the pitch selector shows the black button on the Xbox controller for a changeup.

Plus, there really were A LOT of new announcer comments, like running through the batter's previous years stats, saying how the batter is against lefties/righties (though it seems kinda pointless to say "X batter is OK against right handed pitchers), "swing into center field, hit well," "pretty simple story on that foul, Kype: late swing, foul ball." There were a bunch more, I just don't have the patience to go through and pick them all out.

Another thing I noticed: at 8:08 in the third video, when Gross steps up the plate (it may have happened earlier, I just didn't notice it) flash bulbs start going off in the crowd for a little while. Just a nice little touch, if you ask me.

The point of a video is generally to show the users a preview of the game. The users, depending on the company involved in making the game, might then contact the company pointing out things they noticed that were wrong with the game, thus giving the company more time to correct it, or asking questions about the game.

Not everyone who has posted in this thread has "whined" about the game. I'm sure they'll be happy that you called them a whiner even though they didn't say anything bad about the game. Nice job.

Cable, I noticed it a few times, but it is really quick, at least it appeared so on the video.

It comes as soon as the ball is released from the pitchers hand and due to the quality of the video, you can hardly see it.

That sucked. The stadium and uniforms absolutely SUCK.

At least they fixed most of the gameplay.

But come on, that is pathetic by EA. They couldn't even change the helmets? Guve me a break. And I have an XBOX, so there's no way out for me...

Well, don't get the game then, you're obviously not happy with the product, so why waste your money? MLB2k5 looks passable. Enjoy it.

I'm sorry they absolutely SUCK.

I'm still reserving judgement on the game...I watched the entire video and there were a number of things I really liked...smoothed out and new animations, being able to lead fielder to the bag with a throw, HR celebration, some new audio...I didn't notice any batters moving around in the box, which is something that has been mentioned as a new feature...

I'm disturbed by the lack of walks and low pitch counts though...You can't judge by the human batter though, because he didn't work the count at all, he swung at everything..I think it was the third inning when Halliday threw 8 pitches and the user swung at them all (two 'three pitch' strikeouts and a two pitch ground out)...I'm hoping that a higher difficulty level setting and a batter that can work the count will help in this department, plus the new slider :?: ...

Strangely enough, I played a game of MVP 2004 last night and drew 4 walks and a hit batsman (on a 3-1 count) in nine innings 8O I didn't walk anybody myself though :(
