The Roster I have been working on

I have gone through a roster that I had from about 3 months ago that I have semi-updated, but I forgot who's it was. I used rotoworld and team websites to go through the rosters and put in my projected rosters, and for the minor leaguers, use minor league transactions and rotoworld player search to check if they are still on the roster. Since I haven't created too many minor leaguers yet, you might see some random free agent filler players on the AA squads: (Although the Red Sox and Devil Rays DO NOT have any currently)

(I'll post Toronto, Tampa Bay, and Baltimore in just a minute, and more teams as I get them done)

I want to see how you like these. (Projected roster checking and people that have solid lineups would be appreciated) Or fansites like Soxprospects.com or Nyyfans.com that have good minor league rosters for I don't have to wait until BaseballAmerica post theirs would be nice too)

(Check soxprospects.com and you will see my Red Sox farm is pretty damn accurate!)

I like that he has minor league players in there, too. What other features does yours offer?

Current contracts? Edited ratings?

I have a running roster file myself but I am having trouble filling out rosters or cutting down on others. The Braves have like 30 players combined in their minor league system on mine. Any help would be appreciated.

The ratings, as far as I know, are as current as whoever did the roster X months ago. I can change some, but it seems whenever I do, something will always seem wrong in the game. Also, I need to have some medium or scale that I can use, since I haven't studied ratings to hold other player's ratings up to.

And as far as contracts, yes, I am updating some, but I need a solid database to work with. I used usatoday, rotoworld for recent signings, and rototimes for contract lengths, but a database would help.

And I have begun to work on birthdate fixing...

Which makes me think...couldn't Soriano and I team up or something?

Also, I released some players like McCarty and Kim who probably won't make the ML roster, and will probably not go back into the minors.

Transactions are accurate, for the 4 teams I have done, through today.

There are tons of teams and players to do, believe me.

Anyway, my system of ratings was pretty complicated (explained in the FAQ for my original roster.), but my standard for a .300 hitter was 90 contact.

Anyway, masta, you can always use my roster as a base, I'd imagine it'd be hard to 'team up' online.

Ok I look over some stuff and check it out.

EDIT: I can't find the FAQ for your original roster...can you post the system or FAQ?

here's how I came up with the ratings:

How did you come up with player ratings?

I have many great 'methods' of coming up with how good a player is:

- How good I think a player really is

- How good a 'videogame' would think this player is

- Their 2004 splits, mainly batting average and slugging percentage

- The ballparks these guys played in, expect Nomar and Burnitz to

not be as good as their 2004 stats.

- For pitchers: Strikeouts, BBs, ERA. And of course, I cut some slack

for 'victims' like Ryan Drese and Joe Kennedy.

- Overperformances: Beltre, Rolen, and Beltran will be nowhere as good

as their 2004 stats will dictate because of my opinion that they will

not do anything close to what they have done that year. Of course,

Beltre and Beltran have way more power than I think they should, hence

'how good a videogame thinks this player is'.

- Specific things I know: "Specifics" as in how I view player after watching

them so many times. K-Rod has his sick stuff and sliders, Al Leiter has

nothing but a cutter (and a slider, but that is really another cutter...) and

no control, Reyes can't stay healthy, 'El Duque' Hernandez has his "Eephus" pitch

or a 51 mph Palmball with extreme movement and little control. Stuff

like that, if I really didn't know much about a certain player, I

gave him bread and butter pitches, and usually the ability to hit 90+

mph. Because, hey, these days minor leaguers don't make it to the bigs

throwing 86-88 like the game sets as default, we live in the age of

steroids.

- Barry Bonds is as good as possible, though there was not enough ability

out there to make him as good as he should be. (*There is a way though if you screw around with the .dat files I've just learned)

- Also, for defense, mostly reputation was used, but sometimes I depended

on range factor, though I find it grossly inaccurate.

Well, it really isn't the best system in the world, so, use splits and personal opinion.

Any formulas that could coencide with splits?
