Question

Long time no see eh? I was only here for like a week so no one probably remembers me. :p

But anyway, on to business. As some of you may or may not know, the Xbox 360 has a USB port on it. If I bought MVP baseball 2005 for the original xbox and put the files on a USB and saved them to my harddrive, could I in theory put the newest mod onto it? I love how the new mods look and wish I had the game for the computer, but those prices are ridiculous :o.

I don't know how exactly these mods work so I might obviously be wrong but any input is appreciated.

thanks

Here's something I find hilarious.

We have a consistent forum structure. On the way to the MVP 2005 Support forum, you may encounter the forum rules, which advises that threads in forums should remain on topic, and to use a title that describes the content of your post.

You also encounter the main forums page, which states, directly under the MVP Baseball 2005 forum link, "XBox/PS2 questions in the console forum!".

Clicking the MVP 2005 forum, you then encounter a thread named "Please read before starting a new thread!", which advises "If you have a question about using a certain mod on a console, put it in the - this one might be hard to understand - CONSOLES forum."

The link to the MVP 2005 Support forum also states "XBox/PS2 questions in the console forum!" underneath it.

Clicking the Support forum link on the main MVP 2005 forum takes you to the MVP 2005 support forum, which also has a thread entitled "The Support Forum - Read This First". In this thread, repeated mentions are made of console questions belonging in the Consoles forum.

Yet, somehow, you managed to miss all of these, and post a Console question in the MVP 2005 Support forum.

Congratulations;

^ Neat. Anyway I found it quite hard navigating this forum and I probably could have looked longer, but no need to be an asswipe.

I believe that the Xbox and PC files are in different formats, so you can't use PC mods on the Xbox or Xbox mods on the PC.

Well, I meant DLing the xbox files, putting them on the USB, and putting them on the xbox. Again, I don't know how these files work so I don't even know if this is even at all possible.

I was waiting for a response like this. You see the reason why that guy gave that particular response that way was because he has been here for years and he has literally seen hundreds and hundreds of posts just like yours from people that come in and post some question about something that could have easily been answered if they spent oh I don't know....five seconds out of their life searching the forums.

Did you actually see the threads he mentioned in his post? Of course you didn't. And that is the source of the frustration here. There is so much information here for the new user and experienced user alike and it is not utilized because people rather would be lazy and not do any work for themselves.

And, if you would have searched you would have found your answer to "DLing the xbox files, putting them on the USB" and how to do them.

Now, I think you owe him an apology.

Any constructive feedback on what, exactly, you found about navigating the forum difficult, or do you prefer to stick to low-level insults which require, at best, primitive thought process?

That said, plenty of other users have no issues navigating the forum. Maybe they looked longer.

And I'd love to know how finding the forum hard to navigate affects your ability to use a descriptive thread title. Was it because you were so stressed at navigating such a poorly designed forum that you omitted a decent title, perchance?

Then again, maybe I'm just being an asswipe. Who knows?

I know what you meant. And my answer remains the same -- Xbox files ONLY run on the Xbox and PC files ONLY run on the PC. Copying a PC file to the XBox doesn't magically convert it to an Xbox file. All you've done is take up space on your Xbox hard drive.

Feel free to delete this thread if it annoys you guys so much.

I think when things like this occur, the offender should be scarred for his entire MVPmods life by being a forced prophet of the forum rules by placing them in his signature for all to see. The MVPmods version of Inglorious Bastards.

It sounds like this motion was just seconded.

Thirded.

haaha time to **** you guys off even more. Ive actually searched around more than I did before and all I got was that I need to use an action replay. Is this the case or can I use the method I originally thought?

ACTION REPLAY. IT WAS MADE FOR WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. AS FOR YOUR USB YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THAT.

Action Replay WIKI. Read all about it.

  • 11 months later...

Back for my yearly rounds to try and get the newest MVP mods. I ended up buying MVP 2005 for xbox only to find it didnt work on a 360, bummer. I have been playing with my personally made 2001 rosters using the Pirates and have actually been on a hot streak managing to get over .500 and now have a 52-46 record on my PS2.

I'm also currently trying to get my hands on a copy for the computer now since I don't really feel like spending money on an action replay to use it once to get updated rosters on the ps2 (unless theres another way :D).

and yes, this post was pointless. I just wanted to say hi since ive been playing MVP a lot lately.

So I finally got the game and applied your mod and let me just say WOW.The amount of effort I can tell was put into the mod is absolutely amazing. I thought MVP 2005 would be sweet with upgraded rosters alone, but the changes made by the mode make it better than ANY new baseball game I've played in the past couple of years. Really, awesome job and thanks.

Also on my ps2 dynasty with my makeshift 2001 pirates team has about 20 games left in the season and I'm 5 games out behind the Cards', but I'm leading the Mets in the wildcard by 2 games.

Actually, I do have a question. Do I need to put previous roster updates on before I put the newest or will the newest patch do everything I'm looking for?

thanks

OK, new question. I downloaded MVP 08 after I realized that it was the newest conversion and now that it is downloaded, what do I use to open the tit file? I honestly have no clue.

thanks!

If I had a nickel for every time this question was asked I would be a multi-millionaire by now. You DO NOT open up the TIT program. You follow the instructions and install the 08 mod with the TiT program. The TiT program will do the installing for you. Just follow the directions that it gives you.

There were no instructions to follow but do you mean install MVP 05 with the tit file? Otherwise I get this window

Ok, that right there is the 2008 mod. You do not open it up. You run the TiT program to install this. Make sure you have the 08_WS_release.TiT and the Total Installer Thingy program in the same directory. Read the directions.

He is right. To someone new going to the site, there's really nothing. One would assume you'd go into the zipped file and see some type of readme.

Joey....the easy thing about it is that you can put the entire total mod file into a folder and name it anything you want. Like Yank said...just stick it in the folder you create along side the TiT application. Run TiT and point it to the mod. Follow the on-screen instructions. Don't install this over top of a previous install and don't add any additional official patches.
