Johnny_Smoke
I've learned to turn off night light glow effects for creating classic day time stadiums using the cram32.fsh alpha bitmaps. However; the classic day stadiums don't appear to have a glow effect bitmap that can be turned on for night light glow effects. I've tried adding a glow bitmap to the cram32.fsh file, but it didn't work. So my guess, another file is used that has pointers to the bitmap files to be used and where to be used, in another file. Can anybody direct me to which file may contain these pointers to the cram32.fsh file? Basically, the same question about which file contains the classic crowd shadow effects, so they can be turned off? Any help or direction would be much appreciated. MarkB
Not too sure if this is what you're looking for, but it may be related. You can edit the lighting.csv file, found in data\stadium, to alter the light effects on a per-stadium basis. By editing that, you can add, for example, the dusk lighting effect found in Fenway Park, to another stadium. My experience in editing it is amateur - I've only made one edit to it, as there's really not much need to - but it may achieve what you're looking for. :)

I will give that a try, but it seems there is more to it. I searched the archives and sometimes it's very hard to find related topics. There was a topic (search "shadows") covering the crowd files and vertices, found after posting. Probably, at a point of getting into the .ord and .orl type files. Will check these and see what gives, will have to get the Oedit and tools working. Also there has to be a special file that will need a pointer to a glow alpha file in a cram32.fsh file to make the day classic lights to appear with a glow for a night version. The glow is basically the view we see around the lights similar to Cleveland Municipal stadium. I can turn the lights on, but with no glow effect. It's ironic EA, made night classic files with a glow alpha that can be turned off, but not one for the day files to be turned on. Matter of fact, with a little extra effort these old parks might have both a day and night version, oh well. Always appreciate any advice. Thanks MarkB. MarkB
Only 10 posts and you've surpassed my knowledge level on the subject already. When searching, I sometimes find it useful to use Google instead of the forum's search - it's not as good if you're looking for posts by a particular member, but if you're just looking for general posts containing a particular word or phrase, using "site:mvpmods.com "x"" should provide some good results. Hopefully one of the real stadium gurus can chime in with some clues, though.
Johnny_Smoke
Thanks for the google tip will definitely give it a try. Hopefully, I don't stump my toe on the syntax. Through trial and error it does appear the crowd shadows are located in the crowd .ord and .orl file. More to learn here. I can't wait to crack those babies. Yeah, modding for MVP 2005 is a little slow, except for the great/excellent work DennisJames has done. Maybe somebody will chime in, but will proceed if the tools will work and on a learning curve. For now, I'm as familiar with the tools as a carpenter being asked to plumb a house. Thanks for the tips and your patience MarkB.
MarkB
Well, if that carpenter learns as fast as you, he can plumb my house any day. You're picking everything up pretty fast, so I have no doubt you'll be knocking mods out with the best of them pretty soon. :)
