theoricle11
I am sorry if i come off as an idiot, or if this topic is considered spam, but i am not quite sure i understand what spam means. If anyone can give me an example, or explain thoroughly what spam is, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

carter
Posting smilies alone is considered spam. Posting erroneous comments of nonsense can be considered spam. Posting for the sake of posting is spam (ie. no meaning behind your words) Posting about post counts is also spam.
krawhitham
so when someone releases a new mod, and a thread is made for that mod is "thanks" "good job" "nice work" considered spam? it does not contribute to the thread does it?

Yankee4Life
so when someone releases a new mod, and a thread is made for that mod is "thanks" "good job" "nice work" considered spam? it does not contribute to the thread does it? No, absolutely not. And I hope everyone remembers what kraw wrote here. There are times when those responses are really all that needs to be said in a topic. Using this example of someone releasing a new mod and making a topic for it, responses like this would fit right in that topic as you are conveying how you feel about that certian mod, or if you are just thanking the person for his work. While I'm at it, I want to explain something to everyone here. I don't want people to be afraid to post something because they are thinking in the back of their mind "is this spam or not?" If you want to make a post, make a post. Everyone in here at one time or another has made a post in here that some or all would consider spam. And I include myself in this too. Basically, this happened because a certian group of people in here have been creating topics, responding quickly to their own topics, posted non sequiturs in topics, etc. That's why this came to be. 99.9% of the users in here have nothing to be concerned with for the spamming rule that is in here now. Cubs-Blew-It-Again
Thanks for clearing that up. I have seen "bump" used many times but have never used it myself. I must admit took me some time to figure out what it actually meant (stupid me). Anyways, helpful to know and that I will not be utilizing that word. WhoisKarimGarcia
is it spam if you make a regular,non-spam post and then write "Post #___ "at the bottom?
Yankee4Life
is it spam if you make a regular,non-spam post and then write "Post #___ "at the bottom? You know, I'm not really sure. I guess I'd have to ask you why you would want to write "Post #____" at the end of your message when we all can glance to our left on the screen and see your post total? Kriegz
The point of that was nothing more than a verbal attack.Chill out Moose. Moose chill out, they guy asked for examples of spam so I gave him some. Seems you just have to blow up for no reason every time I post. And btw, not like you care, but I have stoped 'bitching' about spam since I learned that it annoyed you. Its really getting annoying, you blow up on me for no good reason just to **** me off. Many people have 'self moderted' becfore but when TT does it, oh hes a devil!!!! Moose as you habe said before, you want me to drop off the face of the the earth because you 'don't like me'. If you are going to hold a grudge on someone at least do it for a good reason. I NEVER just go and call you out in threads like the way you do to me... you need to cut it out and chill man
mooseknucks
I think I'm gonna do what I want. And for your information, I'm REALLY chilled out right now, and if I wasn't, you'd know. And Karim, you're getting as bad as TT, stop telling me what to do. And by the way, there's a difference between what you do, and what others do. Others do it from time to time, you do EVERY damn day. And you "moderate" things like you've NEVER done anything wrong. Stop being an arrogant jerk and I'll stop making comments. mooseknucks
Okay, you really are getting on my nerves. You can just continue to act like this is the problem, and not the rest of the "moderating" you've been doing. Just drop it. I'm not gonna stop making my comments unless you stop trying so damn hard to be a moderator all the time. End of story.
