OTBjoel
File Name: Seattle Kingdome File Submitter: OTBjoel File Submitted: 09 Sep 2010 File Updated: 10 Sep 2010 File Category: Stadiums Version: HiHeat Here is a concept stadium of the domed home of the Seattle Mariners from 1977-1999. This is a mod of SeanO's stadium that was originally included in Total Classics and the TC1978 mod. I've added many new textures that give the stadium a different feel. The color scheme is darker and not as bright but IMO, a little more accurate. Updated are the field textures and the building wall. The biggest and most significant change is the color and textures of the oufield walls. Also changed are the press boxes down the left field line. The ads are not meant to be specific for any period in time so it could really work for any era. They are a combination of different ads from past versions of this stadium. Many from what Dennis James did in his Kingdome pack so it's a little bit of a fantasy stadium. I figured when Homer gave this stadium the thumbs up that it was good enough for general release. Thanks to Sean for his original work on the stadium. Kudos to Dennis James for the inspiration to get back to stadium modding. Thanks to Homer for the consultation on the actual wall color of the Kingdome. Also included is a data file. Put this in your data\ folder. I've only included a nite file. Since the Kingdome was an indoor stadium, it looks the same either way. Click here to download this file
dennisjames71
Hey this looks great OTBjoel; I can't wait to get home and check it out. I love seeing other people's interpretations and creative ideas in the works with these stadiums. You definitely helped to inspire me to take on all of these 1970s stadiums...I was originally only gonna do the Busch and Dodger stadiums. I'll be playing this Kingdome tonight for sure. :good:
Homer
dennis, have you made any ground on the modelling work? did you ever get oedit to work in xp mode?
OTBjoel
You know back in the day when the only guys posting their work were the legends (SeanO, Pirate, and PaulW), their work was so intimidating that I felt embarrased to post my own stuff. Now that they've gone into retirement or semi-retirement, somebody's gotta keep churning out the stadiums, even if it is just ads or texture updates... ha ha ha. Sean O
I pretty much disowned my Kingdome model, so if you getting it to acceptable makes me thrilled. Good work.
dennisjames71
Hey Homer, With the help of Johnny_Smoke, we were able to determine that neither of us could get Oedit to work in Win Vista or 7, nor Win 7's (XP Mode). However, since I have not been able to find my original Win XP Pro CD; a friend of mine who owns a PC repair shop will be able to get me a sealed/official one that I can purchase for this weekend. I will plan on installing that (as a dual-boot) on an older desktop PC that currently has WIN Vista on it. I was able to confirm with Johnny_Smoke that Oedit will work fine on Win XP and I'll be reviewing the tutorials again. I will be anxious to making advances in tru Stadium editing once I have all of the proper tools. dennis, have you made any ground on the modelling work? did you ever get oedit to work in xp mode? Homer
that's a shame. so i guess i will always need to have an xp machine. but i am eager to see what you do. if you want a first project, i'd request doing a full cheney stadium.
