Features The same great gameplay you can expect from EA Sports

Customize Everything Fully Editable rosters, teams, schedules, logos, stadiums. If it's in the game, you can edit it. Create new batting stances and pitching windups. Make fences 250 feet out with a 50 ft wall. Create your own textures for any part of the game.

College Baseball Mode now included. In addition to minor league players, there is a whole college baseball season complete with all the division 1 teams. Hear the "ping" of the aluminum bats! This mode even includes the draft as well so you can draft that college star into your farm system!

The EA Global editor allows you to make global changes to rosters on the fly. Hundreds of options including the auto-loading of rosters when the game starts up. And a new conversion feature to convert saved rosters into default rosters. Even convert MVP 2005 rosters.

The new Dynamic Pitching System (DPS) makes the pitching meter slow down or speed up throughout the game to simulate occasional control problems. Through a handsome interface users can make adjustments to the pitching meter. Make it bigger or smaller, change the speed, make it invisible, or design a completely new one.

Over 200 gameplay sliders create the ultimate baseball experience including new ones like game speed which can adjust the time between pitches, and the new one-pitch mode.

Dynamic Weather System (DWS) Watch the sun slowly move behind you, and shadows change throughout the game. Even notice deeper shadows earlier and darkness happening sooner in the game during September and October months. Play through a light drizzle, feel what its like to play on a rain-soaked field and watch players splash around when they step, or enjoy the hot sun. See dark clouds slowly moving in, and wonder if you can get this game finished in time.

What do you guys think?

Great imagination, but Barry Bonds will not have his name atached to anything, for two reasons. He won't allow it and no one wants him. He will retire after this season anyhow. Neat ideas though, but EA does not have the ability to make a major league game next year.

donjn, what are those features from? Are those things you wish would happen, or did you actually find somewhere where it talked about EAs 2006 baseball game? Seems a little early to be talking about that, especially if it never happens because of Take Two.

No way he retires yet. That 755 is calling him. Also, while a move to the AL as a DH is not out of the question, I think that he would really like to retire as a Giant. What do you guys think? I think he is still good for 30-40 HRs a year, roids or not. I think his swing alone is one that generates HRs.... the trick is to stay healthy.

Maybe EA can make a Carribean/Mexican Winter League game....

If EA is going to make a game, I will be interested in buying it. You can always change up the rosters! :)

The college game idea is good too! How cool would it be to play then export your draft year class to MVP, kinda like Madden/NCAA?

He didn't say it was a MLB licensed game. MVP Baseball 2006 doesn't imply Major League Baseball officially licensed.

Some neat ideas...even though some won't be attainable.

Well, if we are doing wishlists!!! haha

Maybe it's time for a MVP game based on the Negro Leagues.... maybe you can mix in some old teams from the mlb as well. I haven't heard anybody getting exclusive rights to Cooperstown yet. Maybe they could make some of the old, old parks like Doubleday field, etc..

Basically, I just really hope that EA can find a way to make some sort of ball game over the next few years so when they get this contract back (which I hope they will) they will be able to put out a superb game.

Sure they do its just dependant on how far they are willing to go to get back at take 2. Take 2's deal was only 3rd party exclusive, this means if EA could hook up with MS and subcontract their baseball team and let MS be the publisher then we could have FULL MLB just like we do now....only catch is they could only make it for the PC and Xbox cause MS is a 1st party developer since they own the OS and console ;) I just want a PC baseball game so that appeals to me....seeing as take2 completelly ignores the PC market with ANY of their games which makes them second rate and a huge reason why they should not have gotten ANY exclusives.

  • 1 month later...

I was reading about Bonds sitting out for a fair part of the start of the season. He claimed that the surgury he had in the off season wasn't that great and he was having a tough time rehabing that knee. He also claimed that the stress of the press over the BALCO issue finally got to him and his family.

Take it with a grain of salt but I read this in 3 different sport sites (TSN, Sportsnet and the Sun)

Next couple of years, EA should release:

Expos Baseball 2006 (and so on)

And all the teams will be teams that have been moved and no longer exist. Maybe they put in historical players too, instead of using current day ones.
