Mvp 2005 Crashing

Hi guys,

First, I just wanted to thank all of the talented mod creators and others who work hard to make this game better. When I try to play a game with the Trenton Thunder(2A) in dynasty mode with a customized batting lineup and defensive alignment, the game crashes about 50% of the way through the "loading game" screen to the desktop. This happens even when I change the location of the game. However, I've tried to play in scenario mode with the default lineups and it loads fine. I've even tried reinstalling the game and the same thing happens. I'm using a third party roster off the internet, but everything is fine when I play a scenario. Are there issues with customizing lineups? Thanks for any help you can provide.

A little bit more info would be helpful - is this the original MVP 05 unmodded? MVP 08 with some extra mods? Computer specs might be nice too. And does this happen with any other team than the Thunder or is it always the Thunder? I'm thinking it might be a cyberface issue with the rosters you downloaded.

This is the modded 2008 version and the computer specs are as follows. Windows 7 Professional, 2.4 Ghz Processor, 2 GB RAM, 256 GB ATI Radeon 2600XT.

This only happens with the Thunder and I did download an updated cyberface pack(I think it was Homer's) in addition to the KG updated rosters.

One thing to try would be to import your roster .dat files into MVPEdit, turn on the "Display faces" option and then go through your roster one player at a time and verify that the face exists. If the face ID is other than the default 901 - 915 and you see a "No image to display" message (or something similar) when you look at the player's face, then you know that the face is missing from your models.big file.

Also, look at all your batting orders and pitching rotations for the Thunder. If there are any holes (e.g. less than 5 starting pitchers, open spot in the batting order, etc.) that could cause an error. Another way to check on this is to use the "Check for errors" option. I can't remember if that's exactly what it is called. I don't have MVPEdit installed on the PC I'm writing this message on.
