tguerr16
Hi all. Can someone point me in the right direction...I just dug up my PC MVP05 discs and want to play this great game again. Trouble is I forgot how to do all of my roster updates (the last time I did a update was to the 07 roster)...I know, it's been a while, but I forgot how much fun this game can be on my PC. I live in South Jersey and am a huge Phillies fan so I can’t wait to get a hold of the 2011 roster with Halladay, Lee, Oswalt, and Hamels...NICE! Anyway, I want to update to the latest rosters, schedule, and stadiums so I appreciate all of your help.

Anyway, I want to update to the latest rosters, schedule, and stadiums so I appreciate all of your help. Ok, here goes. ROSTERS: Go to Mlbmods and you have to download the latest roster there. It is current up to September 21st. Therefore do not expect to see Carl Crawford on the Red Sox or Carlos Pena on the Cubs. Not happening here. You also need the updated cyberfaces released by Homer that works with this. Read the instructions. SCHEDULE: The latest schedule for 2010 was made by DylanBradbury. It is on this site. Read the instructions. STADIUMS: Search for stadiums made by DENNIS JAMES in the download section. He made updated stadiums for the major league parks this year including many classic ones. They are all here, so grab them all. Again, read the instructions. UPDATED MOD: The latest updated mod is the MVP 08 mod. You can download that at MLBMODS. Again you need to be a member there and you also need to have TiT installed (the Total installer Thingy) to install this mod. Again, and I have to repeat myself, read the instructions. I have to stress reading the instructions that comes with the mods because sometimes it is easy to make a mistake and I don't want that to happen to you. Good luck and enjoy your game. Thanks for all of the info. Quick question for ya...I just did the first step (rosters) but there were no instructions. Is there a readme I should be seeing? Yankee4Life
Thanks for all of the info. Quick question for ya...I just did the first step (rosters) but there were no instructions. Is there a readme I should be seeing? Ok, well there should have been. Don't know why there wasn't. But this is how you do it. The updated rosters go into the DATA\DATABASE folder in your game. This is really a step that should be done last. But since we are talking about this now, I'll go over it. What I usually do is back up everything that is in that directory and then I unzip (or unrar) the roster into that DATA\DATABASE directory and overwrite the files. When you have that done, you are all set with the updated rosters. Again, like I said this should be the last thing you do, or at least close to the end. First, download the TiT program at MLBMODS. It is required to have this program to install the MVP 08 mod. You can not install the 08 mod without this. After you get this mod installed, then the rest is just basically overwriting the files that are in this mod. You will overwrite the 2008 schedule with the 2010 one, you will overwrite the stadiums with the updated Dennis James stadiums and you will overwrite the 2008 roster with the updated roster from September 21. Also, as an added bonus when you get this roster, this roster is compatible with Homer's 2010 facepack, a mod that you really should get because it will give you so many new cyberfaces. You can download Homer's facepack on Mlbmods right here. There you go! Good luck and have a great holiday.
tguerr16
Thanks for help gang...went step by step and before you knew it I was playing a game with the latest rosters! Shut the game down came back to it later and nothing...the game would not open no mater what I did. I thought I would start from scratch, so I un-installed the game and took the disc's out a started to install from scratch. One problem...I cannot find the key anywhere. I've had the game so long that the original cover is lost. So there you go...all gone...yeppie. Anyway, thanks again for all your help, have fun, I'm officialy out of the MVP05 gaming world. --sigh-- Ok, well there should have been. Don't know why there wasn't. But this is how you do it.
