Question For Stadium Modders

Let me preface this by saying that I am a complete novice at modding, but am willing to take the tools provided and give it a go.

I am interested in trying to tweak the current Target Field mod (props to dennis james for giving us something other than the Metrodome for the Twins to play in). However, there are a few things I would like to try but want to know if it's even possible before I make the effort

All I have is the zmod that I downloaded from this site - I have no programs like Photoshop or anything like that. But here is what I would like to attempt:

1. I would like to move the scoreboard over the left field stands as in the real Target Field

2. I would like to make the outfield have three tiers in left and two in right

3. I would like to move the bullpen to the middle of the fence

4. I would like to add an out of town scoreboard to the right center field wall

5. I would like to add trees (like from Coors or Citizens Bank) behind the center field wall

6. I would like to somehow add the Twins sign (the two players shaking hands) to the place where the current scoreboard is (not sure if this is possible without Photoshop)

If any of you stadium gurus could let me know what's possible and what's not, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Search for rolie's zMod tutorial, and you can see what's possible. #1 shouldn't be too difficult, #2 probably would be, #3 is rather tricky to do right, #4 not much of a problem,#5 is doable, and #6 is also possible.

Download a trial for paint shop pro and you'll have an image editing program. And also search for pirate's oedit tutorial.

My personal experience, if you don't have experience with this type of thing (graphics/3D modeling, from your education/job) Rolie's tutorial will not help a whole lot. It really only covers some of the basics, and it ended up confusing me more than anything. What little bit I actually learned I learned via messages directly from another former stadium modder that went by the name Pirate.

I had actually made some progress on the New Yankee stadium, but his wife was about to have a baby, and he stopped responding to me about half way through the "tutorial" he was giving me. I was stuck on a couple of the major items that needed done before I had a workable mod, and since he was out of the picture, and no one else seemed interested in helping, I just scrapped the whole thing.

Ironically, about 3 months later someone noticed my request for help, and offered to help finish it, but it was already shi*-canned.

Anyway, i had quite a bit of experience in modding stadiums from my days of doing texture mods for high heat, so I thought it would be a fairly easy transition. Even though I had zero experience in 3D modeling... Huge difference... And I learned real fast that i wasn't cut out for it...

Sorry for sounding so negative... I hope you have some success with it. :)

Actually, I appreciate your honesty. I really think this project is beyond my abilities. It's such a shame that the gurus like Pirate are no longer doing stadium mods. They did such incredible work and I know that they could make a Target Field and Yankee Stadium that actually look like the real ones.
