Tell you what, I'll pass on whatever 2K is going to brag about this game from now until it is released because that is a company that I don't believe in at all. emath2432
Not to try and turn this into a battle between the two, but all the videos, screen shots, and info about The Show (A lot of the guys from Operation sports were invited to actually play the game as it is now, unfinished)... It sounds like it is going to blow '10 out of the water.... As good as last years version looks, this years version is even more realistic looking. They have added analog controls for everything. 2k11, I am gonna pass on all the pre-release hype, because that is all it ever turns out to be. Like Y4L, I will wait until about 3 weeks after it comes out to decide if it is worth trying. By that time, all the crap usually starts to come to the surface... (I know I was technically putting words into Y4L's mouth, as he didn't really say he was going to wait 3 weeks, but you know what I mean) Here's hoping it is great. The PC really needs a good, new, baseball game.

This is what I was implying anyway. All anyone has to do is read the posts from the past two years in here about how bad 2K has done with this game. That's enough to make anyone wary of it. I did get 2k10 last year and the only reason why I did that was because they had an Opening Day special of $3.99 for the game, so I grabbed it. It did not take me long to realize that it was $3.99 that I wasted.

Not sure if it's because the game will be minimally changed, or because they are trying to avoid the letdown that hype always creates. I will still buy and play the game I'm sure... I've given up on the things that are important to me being included in a "next gen" game, so I just play what there is. What I really miss is the flexibility of the High Heat series.. Mid franchise you could change the team you control, re-align your divisions, switch to a balanced schedule, have inter league games or dump them, etc. I liked that. I'm fairly easy to please, so believe it or not if 2k10 just had those things I'd be relatively happy.

I bought the hardware to upgrade my PC, but by the time I got it all, all of the bad news started spilling out about the game, so I never installed it. The installer is still sitting on my HDD... tks
I'm on board with 2k11 mainly because I don't own a PS3 and it's the only available PC baseball game right now on the market. I'm with you....I only have the PC and that is the way it will remain. I will continue to support any baseball simulation available for the PC. I had no problem with 2k10 and I'm sure I will survive whatever problems there may be with 2k11. Not only will I support 2k11 baseball for the PC but also any golf or football simulation that is might be offered for PC gamers. If we all hold our breath until we turn blue until 2k11 gets the game the way we want, pretty soon there won't be enough interest for 2ksports (or any other producer) to continue providing games for the PC.....That'll show 'em! :)
pitchleague
yeah, I bought the game last year off Amazon and got it on day 2 (even with a pre-order, I didn't get it on day one) and then kicked myself when it showed up on steam or wherever it was on Opening Day for that low, low price. I won't get fooled again. I'm waiting til at least then to get the game. It should give me a good solid 3 weeks of reading professional and user reviews of the PC game. And if it doesn't go on sale on Opening Day? I'll only buy it if those reviews have been good. The only thing is, I bought 2k9 as a digital download and the patches took forever for those (rather than the DVD crowd). So that's why I bought off of Amazon last year, so I could have the physical disk to get the inevitable patches faster. So, I'm kind of leery of getting the game for a dirt cheap price on Opening Day, but then having to wait forever for direct download patches to get there. Anyways, from all the articles I've seen so far, it looks like they have done a very good job of fixing gameplay rather than adding new wrinkles and game modes. It all sounds real good so far! Of course, we all said that last year, too. Which isn't saying much since 2k9 wasn't very good at all.

We'll see how 2k11 goes I agree about 2K10 having a good feel. One of the things that they haven't gotten enough credit for is how much improved 2K10 was over 2K9... Unfortunately, 2K9 was SO crappy that even a big improvement appeared to many as spray painting dog poop to make it pretty :p

Griz891
Given their history ( 2K9 and 2K10 ), why would you preorder this game ? I'm asking seriously. First of all I can't afford a PS3. Second of all, I really didn't think 2k10 was all that bad, a great improvement over 2k9. And third, it's a PC baseball game and the price is right. I no longer play MVP 05 and I really think 2ksports is getting better with each season.

It might not have been bad, but it wasn't good either. It didn't have errors, injuries, accurate sim stats, infield pop flies, or choppers. I could go on, but why bother ? You've played it. It's the only PC baseball game. That had to be a big reason why you preordered it too. I agree that MLB 2K is getting better each year, but I also think it's a long way off from being an accurate representation of major league baseball. emath2432
The best part about the 2k contract is that they only have one more year after this one if memory serves me. I also read that they have no interest in retaining the contract. If this is all true, one can only hope that EA gets back into the baseball game game(pun intended). Or, that Sony decides to give it a go (though they have said they aren't interested) and expand to other platforms. I'll say it again, for the 2nd year in a row... I hope 2k proves me wrong, but their track record isn't good.
dennisjames71
Hey Griz, I’m sure I’m like you in being in the minority on this; but I actually had fun with 2K10 when I picked it up for the Xbox 360 last spring. However, I didn’t start to enjoy the hell out of it until I got it for the PC and was finally able to use the great mods for that game from this very site. My favorite game is still MVP Baseball but for that kind of money (on a pre-order), I’m willing to check out 2k11 and try it out. Oh, and how classy MikeZ to troll on in this thread and crack back on a guy who happens to dig this game and decided to pre-order it. I hope your juvenile and not-so-subtle jab at others who happen to be a fan of the game gives you great, sophomoric pleasure. If you have something substantive to add…great; if not, nobody wants to hear an idiotic rant by a frothing fan-boy. Are you 14 years-old? Grow the hell up. emath2432
I can say this for Mike. I remember reading his threads last year, and he was big time into 2k10 at first. He played it, supported it, and talked about it a lot. However, like most people, he realized after a couple of weeks that it sucked. Now he voices his opinion as such. It's great that some people enjoyed it. I personally could not play a game that had as many faults as it does. I actually bought the game myself, and bought a bunch of upgrades for my PC so I could play it, but before I even got them installed, it was clear the game was junk. I played the PS3 demo, and it was okay (nothing great), but when many people that I trust a great deal from here tell me it isn't worth it, I believe them. Anyway, my original point... Mike was one of the bigger supporters of this game when it came out. Turned out it sucked, and now he has every right to voice his opinions. Until 2k proves us wrong, we will continue to warn people. The fact that I have read (and posted about it above) that 2k has already said they don't want to keep the contract in the future tells me that they know they can't do it right, or they don't care. Either way, not a good thing. But, like I said above, I hope they prove me wrong. We need a PC game worth playing. EDIT: Let me add, I only read his very last post. If there was anything above that, then maybe I am mistaken. I just didn't think, knowing what we know about the game, and how much he supported it at first, that he really said anything out of line. dennisjames71
Emath, I understand and agree that we are all entitled to voice our opinions…but I didn’t like the way he was coming at Griz. It was troll behavior, pure and simple. This was a thread on the prospective 2K11 game, not an invitation to take a crap on fans of the 2K game. You posted some very pertinent points about the game in your critiques about it, (and I agree with many of them)…and you did that without taking sniper shots at others. He’s got a right to thumb his nose at a game he felt ‘burned’ by; but nobody has the right to crack on others who just said that they dig the game and they pre-ordered it. They can take that juvenile garbage elsewhere for all I care.

When are people gonna understand that a forum is free. I'm not breaking any rules and I'm not trolling. Oversensitive people are always so quick to throw the word troll around, but I wasn't even being one. I'm sorry you have so much emotional stake in a video game that you get offended when someone shares negative opinions of it. I'm sick of people like you. You're no better than me or anyone else on this forum, so stop talking like you're above me cause you have some imaginary forum etiquette. You really are sad, man, seriously. The anger stirred in you by what I said is highly suspect of mental illness.
dennisjames71
Nobody got offended by your negative comments about a video game. I was offended at your behavior at Griz and acting like a pompous jerk just because the guy wants to try out the game. I am sick of people who think they do their drive-by snipes at people in the forums and scream “freedom of the forums” when someone calls them out. You want to talk about sad? Your last post screams of insecurities galore, because nobody was ‘talking above you’; just irritated how you were coming at someone. And please, spare me your pathetic psychological assessment about mental illness…I seriously doubt you are qualified to do so.
