jpup
I ask this question because it seems that many of the newer people on the forum are console guys. Just some advice to those of you that are console gamers, this site is primarily related to PC mods. In advance of release on Tuesday, I felt this was important to let you guys know that most of the mods that we create will not be available for the PS2, Gamecube, PSP, or XBOX. I think that I can speak for the entire community in saying that you are all welcome to join the discussion once the game drops next week, but some of you might be dissapointed that you didn't purchase the PC version. I would highly recommend, if your CPU can handle it, buying the PC version of MVP Baseball 2005. Some of the mods such as rosters and some stadiums can be converted for use on XBOX. The rosters can be converted to PS2 and XBOX. I am unaware of any mods for the Gamecube version. Good luck and have a great season. Here we go again. Oh yeah, Go Reds! A_Dub
Yea this will be my first year for the pc version. I have always had the ps2 but I figure my laptop can run the game good with maybe slightly lower the graphics a little but hopefully not. I just want the pc version for the mods and everything like that. Way more powerful and in turn should lead to more replayability. :D
jpup
PC-CD all the way... and for my XBox, I may decide to at least rent MLB 2006. MLB 2006 is only for PS2 and PSP. MLB 2k5 is the only other option for XBOX. Here are the baseball games available for this season: MVP Baseball 2005 for PC, XBOX, PS2, PSP, and Gamecube. Major League Baseball 2k5 for XBOX and PS2. MLB 2006 for PS2 and PSP. Nintendo Pennant Chase for Gamecube.
Jabroni
I'm purchasing MVP Baseball 2005 for Xbox. By the way, do I need a modded Xbox to use roster and stadium mods? Or can I just transfer the roster and stadium mods to my Xbox via an Action Replay? The reason I ask this is because I just have an un-modded Xbox but I do have a "home-made" Action Replay. So will I be able to use roster and stadium mods?

five
You can use rosters without a modchip, not stadiums.
Yankee4Life
You can use rosters without a modchip, not stadiums. Quite right. You can get the updated rosters for your X-Box without the mod chip but as five said, the stadiums are another story.

So will I be able to use roster and stadium mods? You need an action replay or gameshark for rosters Stadiums on the xbox will most likely not be done this year and here is my reason for it. Stadium mods on the PC when through 2 phases last year. Phase 1 was changing the advertising images within the BIG file and nothing else. Phase 2 was to completely re-edit the stadium using Oedit; Move walls add objects, whatever. Phase 2 was the COOL **** This year there will be no phase 1 PC stadium mods (why bother), and phase 1 mods are required for stadium mods on the Xbox. The guy downloaded all the PC parks, opened the BIG files grabed the changed ads and then put them in the xbox statium files. so unless someone makes Phase 1 mods the will be no modded Xbox stadiums because oedit will not work on Xbox stadium files

I guess at least I can get the rosters. Normally, I don't worry that much about having a stadium mod but EA hasn't changed U.S. Cellular Field in like 2 years! The real-life "Cell" is currently undergoing renovations. It was even renovated a bit last year but EA didn't reflect it in their version of the stadium. From all the screenshots I've seen of U.S. Cellular Field in MVP 2005, they still haven't changed a thing. I played MVP 2004 on PC last year and Pirate did a great job modding an updated version of the Cell. They have some pics of the renovations that the Cell is currently undergoing at www.WhiteSox.com.
