TwentySeven
Hey all, I am trying to take a fresh install of '05 from start to 2011; I started out with the fresh install, and that turned out fine and seems to work. Now, I'm trying to use the '08 mod to update; I've run it twice and both times it claimed to be a completed update, but when I opened the game it looked exactly like the fresh '05 install without any changes or anything. I'm using Windows 7 and the Total Installer Thingy to run the update; I made sure to open TiT in admin mode, so I don't know what I could be doing wrong. Any tips or tricks, is this a common problem, or what? Thanks! -TS EDIT 1: Just realized that Windows 7 automatically made the folder read-only; trying the update with that mode unchecked, will update this post upon completion if it works or doesn't work. TwentySeven
Nice to see you around here again Mr. Twenty Seven. Yezzir, new baseball season brought back nostalgia for baseball video games, and since I don't have a PS3 and have heard really bad things about the 2K Sports franchise, I figured this was my best option (although admittedly the mod community has really declined since I left)... Anyways, I just finished trying the update again with the new settings, when I completed it started up as the fresh version again and I checked and the read-only status hadn't even changed. Basically, Windows 7 isn't allowing me to take away read only status; I'm going to try again, this time installing in a non-root directory. EDIT 1: OK guys, I tried it all over again and I'm at a loss here. It just won't update. I've tried a couple other mods too (they didn't take as long for the TIT to handle) and it's just not working. I reinstalled TIT and tried again, still no results. Does anyone know what this issue is?

You don't know the half of it. We lost a lot of people but we did gain one really important guy. Dennis James is his name and you'll see it on a multitude of stadiums and you should also try the 1927 MLB/ Integrated mod that he and redeck created. Have fun man. Yeah, well right now I'm just trying to get the updates running... Any idea why my computer refuses to update the game? It's so bizarre, I can't figure out what's not working correctly. DylanBradbury
Where are you installing Total Installer Thingy? From its instructions page: If you goal is to install mods into an already existing MVP install choose the folder that contains you copy. If your goal is to install 07-REboot or 08-ADT (About Damn Time), create a new folder and and install TiT into that folder.

I think I may have seen something that you are doing wrong here. You want to install the 08 mod, right? That is a little different then installing other total conversion mods. You do not make a fresh install of '05 and then install 08 on top of it. Make sure you have TiT and know how to use it (and it sounds like you do) and then do this: 1.Make a directory where you want this mod installed and place the TiT program in it and the 08 mod you downloaded in it too. 2. Then start up TiT and then locate the 08 mod and then click on start and follow the directions that the TiT program says. You will need your installation disks when it asks for it. Yankee4Life
When Dylan is around I really shouldn't bother.
TwentySeven
That seems like it might explain why '08 didn't install properly, but that doesn't explain why when I tried some of the other mods they didn't update either. I'll give it a go with a separate '08 install as mentioned, but it just seems fishy that even smaller packaged updates didn't have any effect. EDIT 1: Well, I guess that did the trick. '08 successfully installed, and for whatever reason, the further mods to update to '11 from '08 worked this time as well. I can't explain it but I'm not going to complain either. Cheers all!
