very randomly i cant import teams or players into other MBE files, theres no errors or anything like that, i export the royals team and that goes through fine, then i import the data from the game try to import the royals team into that but it says "This file is not a valid MET file" and it does the same thing when i try to import players but instead of MET it says MEP i had this problem about 2 months ago but then it went away just as fast as it started happening. im very confused and pissed right now and completely lost on what the problem could be.

A corrupt MET file perhaps?

More likely, it's the MBE file that got corrupted. I've had this happen in the past, and more often than not, I have to start making my changes again with a known good MBE file. Periodically, I would make working copies of the current MBE file (e.g. after adjusting one team), so that if problems occur, I don't have to start all over again.

I had the same issues in my work. I was exporting each team as I was finishing them to a known working test file (one that was balanced for pitchers slots and lineups). There was no rhyme or reason getting that error. The only thing I remember helping at times was closing off MVPedit and rebooting my PC. However, toward the end of my work (the 28th team), was getting crashes with the Pirates. I scoured the Pirates organization and could find nothing. The other quirk I found was that the AL and NL Future Stars were dwindling in number with each new import that I would do. But then I couldn't import an old AL/NL FS roster as a remedy either.

I think the bottom line is that the more you try to bring in from other sources, the greater the chance you stand of corrupting it, especially if it is from someone else's PC and if they have a different operating system.

God doesn't hate you..... cpu programmers do. ;)

Hard to say..... I know you're working on a group project. Maybe everyone can set their MVPedit to open under that same OS type (change the compatibility mode via the properties), export completed MET's that way and see if that makes a difference. Not sure what else to tell you.
