Im new and see that some files would crash your game or wouldnt work proper or as good. For the savvy users here which files are the best to update my game? Which ones are the best? That is for you to decide. There's a wide selection of them out there for you to choose from. READ the directions and BACK UP your files you are replacing. If you get in the habit of doing that you will be a lot better off than most people who are brand new. It's important you do this. I am guessing you are a Blue Jay fan. There's a lot of Toronto stuff. Get those. And get the updated stadiums made by a guy named Dennis James. Take your time and pay attention to what you are doing and you will be fine. Yankee4Life
thanks i thought i would just need to download one file and everything would be updated like a patch but its harder than i thought The only time you can only download "one file" is when you download a season mod. That includes everything. And it really is not hard at all. You just take your time. Everyone learned at one point.

redeck
Its unfortunate that no one has decided to gather all the new 2011 MVPmods into something of a one time download, but Theres lots to pick from here, yes some of the latest files are still buggy, but for the most part things work pretty smooth if you follow the install directions. If you get stuck or have a problem with a mod, take a breath think it through, try again. If your still not getting, come on back and let us know what you did, and what happened. The guys here are pretty knowledgeable and willing to help. But before you start cranking off questions, try using the forums search engine, you might find your answer without waiting for someone to reply. Cant tell you how many hours of time i saved by getting an answer off the forums without waiting for someone to take teh time and Type it all over again. Welcome to the site, and enjoy. Do me a favor and get back to me with this question. How far are we from compiling these mods to make a 2011 season mod? Because if we do have a lot of stuff prepared, I will go back in my galleries and grab those hi-res photos for everyone. It will take a few days, but it can be done. redeck
BlueJay, im sure you will hear from an admin. on that subject soon, but we dont do alot of talking about making copies of the game here. If you want to do that you will probably have to learn how somewhere else.
bluejays50
im trying to update my game but whenever i try to the rosters are inaccurate and alot of players are younger than they are suppose 15-17 years old and the game isnt stable. I looked through all of the download roster updates and couldnt find anything. What are you guys using? i would just do the roster updates myself but i cant even find a good update for uniforms of teams that have changed over time
redeck
there was a uniform mod by Spungo last year i think, and he put it out as a free download. If your desperate for uniforms, you can go to Spungos site, he has long been held the king of Uniforms, but he charges for the downloads usually. (only one that i know of) over at mlb.mods you can get MVP08, which doesnt bring your rosters up to 2011 of course, but better than 2005. if your OK with 2010 rosters, there are plenty in the roster downloads section here, i dont recall any of them having crash issues. but usually with any roster you need MVP08 installed first as these rosters tend to work up from there, along with uniform changes and stadium changes. there is a plethora of stadium changes available from DennisJames in that section, all are worth having if you need the latest adds in your parks. if your looking for a easy onetime 2011 download, it doesnt as yet exist. the latest full season modern upgrade is MVP08. Of course past seasons are also available, (i use these more than modern myself) in the Total Classics catagory, which will change your game from 2005 to the year you choose to download. with appropriate uniforms, rosters portraits, audio, stadiums ect. labor of love goes into making those mods, changing this stuff is not entirely easy, or quick. hope you find something you like
Gordo
There are 2 different versions of 2011 rosters in the downloads section as well. For my rosters, go to the support thread and make the appropriate correction to K-Rod (until I can get out my next roster fix). It involves installing MVPedit, loading the .mbe file, manipulating a few numbers and exporting the .mbe file to 19 .dat files that can then be placed in the "database" subfolder (located in the "data" subfolder). Very easy to do.
bluejays50
thanks guys ill look into it but im more concerned about the uniforms and stadiums. Im a jays fan but i want my whole game to be up to date not only 1 team
Yankee4Life
thanks guys ill look into it but im more concerned about the uniforms and stadiums. Looking at the rays old uniform is pissing me off lol Why? So far Dennis James has released 14 updated stadiums for the 2011 season. And the ones he does not have for 2011 he has for 2010. Download the mod, read instructions and use the mod. Rinse and repeat. As for uniforms, get spungo's standard set to start with. That's just one way to go.

Yankee4Life
yes i gotten the uniforms. Im trying to get the stadiums but whenever i try to copy the 2 big files in the download to my data/stadium folder per instruction and look up the stadiums in the game they dont appear? Ok, let me see if I can explain this because I see you are missing something. Let's use the last stadium that Dennis James uploaded (the 2011 Citizen's Bank Park.) You download that mod, place it in the data/stadium folder (backing up your original files as recommended) and then you get in the game and you play a game in the Phillies home ballpark. All set. What this 2011 version of Citizen's Bank park actually is is an updated version of the park for the 2011 season. All the signs are up-to-date for 2011 as opposed to last year's version. You may not have noticed any difference because you didn't know what the background signs were (among other things) from one stadium version to the next. So if you have the 2011 Phillies park and you just placed it in your game, you have successfully updated your stadium. Now you can do the same for the rest. dennisjames71
thats what i did with target field and citi field and the new stadiums dont appear. Im sure i would know the difference between the new mets and twins stadium compared to there old ones. Maybe i should have write this in my previous post. Hey bluejays, I completely understand the confusion with my CAS Target Field; but the Citi Field one is pretty straightforward. Here is an excerpt that I wrote last years regarding the (4) CAS Stadiums I made: Yeah I know using these "owner mode" stadiums are a different animal. Yes, I've found that you cannot simply re-name the stadiums...you get all kinds of weird stuff happenning (like no crowds). You have to keep them as the original stadium names. If you want to play in them...simply go into Owner Mode and create a profile. When you want to play in the stadium: Select the "Create a Ballpark" from the stadium select screen and then choose the name of the profile you created in Owner Mode. In order to access all of the features of the stadium; you may need to "max out" the ballpark features. One of the key things to keep in mind, is that you CANNOT rename the Create-A-Stadiums. When you go to select a stadium...go to the "Create Ballpark" selection and follow the above directions. Now, the Citi Field (sheaday & sheanite) simply get copied into your data/stadiums folder and that's it. When you start the game, you should see some differences from last year's such as the Mets logo with an orange background on the video screen at the top right I believe <you'll notice this when you are in any batting view>. Keep in mind that there are not going to be many big & obvious changes in some cases and that changes that are there; are mostly subtle as with ads and such. Just to let you know, I updated the Rogers Centre late last fall and it's pretty much updated enough for this season. I've caught a couple of Blue Jays games at home and do not see any significant changes from what I have already done. Hope this info helps you out. redeck
Thats funny. Your the only person who has a problem installing these stadium mods, and its DennisJames fault. Guess your out of luck, because Dennis is really the only guy around editing stadiums for MVP05 these days. Sorry.
Yankee4Life
can someone help me with dennisjames stadiums or better tell me someone else who makes stadiums i did everything that was told and the stadiums dont appear. It doesn't matter who the guy is who made the stadiums. Because Dennis James made the stadiums it's his fault that they "don't appear?" Every single stadium that guy has made on this site I have used, and every single one has shown up for me and works. Don't go blaming the modder because you are not following these simple directions properly. Step back, read the instructions and try again. And, FYI, don't go around placing blame on the people that actually do the work around here because that is the sure fire quickest way to get people not to help you in here. Jim825
who said im blaming people, and where are the easy instructions everybody is talking about. It clearly says in his post to copy the 2 big files into the stadium folder and thats what i did and when i play the game i dont see the stadiums anywhere I'm assuming you are talking about Citi Field here. If not, let us know which stadium you are talking about. When you say you "don't see the stadiums" do you mean that you can't select the stadium when you cycle through the list of available stadiums? If that is the case, then you're correct. The two .big files are ONLY the stadiums themselves, and not the stadium select screen or the stadium name that appears in the game. In the case of Citi Field, you have to select Shea Stadium when you are selecting a stadium to play in. Also, when the game starts up, the announcers will call it Shea Stadium, even though it is Citi Field. Regarding Target Field (or any of DennisJames' other Create-A-Stadium stadiums), follow the instructions in this post: http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?showtopic=51980&view=findpost&p=621470
