Gordo
I'm trying to bring in new in-game logos (the ones that appear next to the players name during walk-up), and I have played around with everything..... biggui, eagraph, fshtool, nfshtool (which doesn't look any different to me).... I can get the .fsh file extract, but when it breaks it down to .bin files I'm stuck. I can import to EAgraph and it shows up, but they're too big and it corrupts the logos.big file, causing the game to crash. Any hints? (yes... I've searched)
dennisjames71
Hey Daflyboys, Yes, LOGOS can be confusing and they were a pain in the neck when I first learned about them. The main thing you have to keep in mind is when you change LOGOS; you really need to extract each team’s .FSH file and replace the graphic you want within the extracted folder. For example if you want to change the lagre(Main) team logo for the SF Giants, it might be the first file in that teams logo folder (called 0000.bmp for instance)…but the main logo might be a different file for the Yankees (0006.bmp). So I’ve found that you have to go in and change each part of the team’s logo file. If you try to use the same logo.FSH file (and change out graphics) for every team…it will crash at the team select screen everytime. But how you extract the logo files is by extracting ONLY the first portion that you see in either EAGRAPH or BigGui. For example for the Yankees, you’ll see l011.FSH followed by more files with the number 11…just ignore those and extract only the first file you see of each team. I would extract them all with Biggui in one swoop and get them into a separate folder. Once you open each of the team logo files…you’ll see all the graphics you can change/update. Once you make the changes, ZIP up all of the newly created .FSH files and install with TiT. Works everytime. Hope this helps and feel free to ask questions if you are having any problems. Gordo
Ahh...just the man I was hoping would answer. So I shouldn't mess with EAGraph at all? I do understand about that first file being the logo I have in question and can see this in EAgraph. The problem is that when I use FSHed or nfsh tool, I get those .bin files. I just can't get them to extract as FSH's. I'll go back and use biggui and try to follow what you said. I loathe EAGraph.
redeck
Man dennis that sounds a lot easier than the way I was trying to figure out Logos using that MVPStudio program. what a headache. You couldnt change just one logo with that things, if you wanted to change one logo for a team, you had to re install the changed logo, AND all the other logos, and alphas. what I mess that program made of my life, and was the cause of me asking you to do the dern things for me. Sheesh Now I know how you could crank them out so quickly. Your magic secrets are getting out ever so slowly...........

If I'm redoing multiple logos...I like to use BigGui to select the multiple LOGO.FSH files and extract in one swoop. Again, you don't have to worry about those additional .bin files. you only have to select the top-most file of each team and they will all look like l011.FSH, l012.FSH, l013.FSH...et al. Then just do you thing with the changes/updates to create the new .FSH files, ZIP it up, install with TiT. I've never had problems doing it this way. You could just change one team, to test the process, before you jump into doing 30 plus teams, just to get used to the procedure. Best of luck to you. Let me know how it goes for you. I agree Dave, MVPStudio really looks good on paper but I've never got it to work right on Win XP, Vista, and Windows 7...so it never did Didley for me. Logos were very confusing to me until our grand Guru Jim825 explained it to me last year.

Ahhh.... thx for the clarification... and yes, 1 team test is best. I'll probably have a chance to give it a whirl tonight.... thx.
Gordo
Sorry, should have asked this earlier. So what tool are you using to bring the new image in? This is where I'm stuck. In other words, I have a new Yankees logo I want to bring in. What format should that be in to begin with and what are you using to convert it to an .fsh file? BMP (128 x 128)?? EDIT: nm,... within the extracted folder... gotcha.... take, um, 43. EDIT 2: stream read error.... **** me! I just don't get the steps.

Hey I apologize that I neglected to mention that I use the nFSH Tool to extract and repack the files. By default on all of my computers, I have the nFSH Tool open when I double-click a .FSH File. Here's what the open/extracted Yankees logo file looks like: After you make the changes with your favorite graphics editing program; you then just double-click the "index" file you see here and it will re-pack the folder into a new l011.FSH file. All you have to do is make the new logos/images the same size as the ones you're replacing and to create an alpha file that immediately follows. Gordo
Thx man... I think that's gonna do it. I think all this time the nfsh tool I had was no good. I can see the images already! EDIT: Ok...got it to work! Man, that nfsh tool is so much better! Now I just have to refine how the images look. thanx again!!
dennisjames71
Woo Hoo! It's a hit! That's cool that it worked out for you. Have fun with the logos.
Gordo
Last dumb question. In the "walk up box", it seems like there's way too much negative space, even if the logo is full size. Any way around that you think? The new original:
dennisjames71
What I do is use the existing logo files from either the original 2005 or MVP 08 installs to use as a template. You'll notice that many of the logos are disproportionate in size. Usually you'll see that the rounded logos are stretched vertically (up & down) than what they should be. What you have to do is basically mimic the look of the logos by stretching them vertically. I know it's a bit frustrating and I do not understand the idiocy of EaSports' 27 different methods of inserting graphics/images into the game. For logos, CTS screens, loading screens, etc...they all basically go in looking warped and disproportionate in appearance ; but they end up looking correct once they are in the game. Good luck and just play around with stretching your logos to match the existing ones and you'll be just fine.
Gordo
Yes, I did notice the stretch and it is very goofy. I just wondered how I can fill the shadowed box to the left of the stats more than what is..... but I guess you have to take what they give you. Once I get a pattern down it should be easy, since they are all rounded.

Especially on those walk-up logos...once they get stretched, they will fill-out the empty spaces like you have in your screenshot. Good luck to you. :good:
