Not at all. Dennis makes every team look their best. This is a fantastic series of uniforms he is putting out.

Hey thanks a lot Y4L. Yeah, a bunch of my co-workers knew that I don't have family that live nearby...so they took me out for lunch. It was nice of them to take time out of their weekend to do that. Just one of the reasons I dig my job. :drinks:

Coming soon to this thread (as soon as tomorrow) another featured 1951 game between the Red Sox and Phillies, which are the last two team uniforms that Dennis made for this mod.

A preview of the game: Both pitchers, Boston's Mel Parnell and Philadelphia's Robin Roberts pitched complete games. One of these pitchers retired the first eight hitters he faced and his perfect game was broken up by his pitching counterpart.

[joke]Stay tuned, or venture into the 2K area in here and read about how many of those people don't know where their newest rosters go. Some of them, if truth be told, don't even know what a roster is.[/joke]

And here we are. The 1951 Boston Red Sox (87-67) vs. The 1951 Philadelphia Phillies (73-81).

Screenshots

Phillie first baseman Eddie Waitkus makes the play of the game on the first batter of the game, Boston's Johnny Pesky. Here he leaps to take away a potential two base hit away from the Red Sox shortstop.

Del Ennis is hit by a pitch from Red Sox starter Mel Parnell. Parnell would go on to hit two Phillie hitters on the day.

While Mel Parnell (standing at second in the background is safe) Robin Roberts teams up with Eddie Waitkus to retire Johnny Pesky.

Third baseman Willie Jones slides into second base with a double in the sixth inning and would score Philadelphia's first run on a single by outfielder Tommy Brown.

Boston made one error in the game and it was a big one. Johnny Pesky, who seemed to be in the middle of everything today, boots a grounder off of the bat of Richie Ashburn. Had Pesky fielded the ball cleanly and made the double play, the Sox would have been out of the inning. Instead, the runner at first was safe at second and Ashburn was on first. Granny Hamner, the runner on second base, would score on Willie Jones' single to right field to give Philadelphia a 2 - 0 lead.

This throw was ruled an error on Phils shortstop Granny Hamner even though a good throw still would not have beat Boston's Bobby Doerr.

Robin Roberts went all the way in this game as well as his Red Sox opponent Mel Parnell. But on this day Roberts was just a little bit better. He gave up only two hits, the first one after he retired the first eight Red Sox he faced in the game. Mel Parnell broke up his no hitter with a clean single in the third inning. The only other hit was in the fourth inning when Ted Williams (of course) hit a frozen rope to right field for a single. Along with the two hits Roberts gave up, he struck out five and walked none in his complete game shutout. Parnell's performance would have won him a game on any other day as he pitched 8 innings, gave up seven hits and only gave up two runs, both earned.

Willie Jones catches this liner of the bat of Clyde Vollmer (not pictured) to end the game for Roberts and the Phils. Philadelphia won 2 - 0.
