jeffmanqb3
I'm trying to change the Cardinals helmet on their batting practice jerseys to the same one they use for their home jerseys. I'm using EAGraph and saved the home helmet as a picture. Then I imported that picture on the batting practice helmet. I saved the models.big and opened it back up in EAGraph and saw that my changes had worked. But when I try to play a game wearing these jerseys, it crashes. Can someone help me out on this? Hey Jeff, You know what, i would be glad to help you out with your uniform issue...this weekend though I am visiting my daughter here in San Diego but I am driving back home tomorrow. If you can hang on until later tomorrow, I can help you out. Off the top of my head, i think the Cardinals batting practice uniform slot is u024o?? And you just want the standard home batting helmet on the practice uniform slot?? If that's the case, it's no problem. I'll be in touch.

dennisjames71
Hey Jeff, I still in San Diego tonight but I brought my laptop with me and I was checking out one of my MVP Baseball installs. I had put together HOME and ROAD batting practice/spring training uniforms for each team and I wanted to show you what I have for the Cardinals: My question is that...do theese uniforms look similar to what you have or are looking for? It looks like I used the red/HOME helmet for both sets but it will be easy to change them to the way you want. Just fill me in on what you want and we'll get 'em done by tomorrow night when I get home. Take Care, Dennis

Take Care, Dennis That's exactly what I'm looking for, but I'm trying to change the helmet on the original jersey. I loved MVP 05 on PS2 and played a ton of NCAA 06 and 07. I still play it some today. That's why I picked this game up not too long ago. I'm still pretty new at this though. EAGraph seemed liked it would be pretty easy to change out parts of the uniforms. I can see the changes I've made in EAGraph, but when I try to play a game, it crashes. I feel like I might be missing out on just one step. Anyways thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it. Once I get the hang of this I plan on trying out some NCAA mods. Thanks!
stecropper
It maybe that EAGraph does not re-compress the file after inserting the image. BIGGUI can show you if the file is compressed or not and "if not" it can compress it. I imagine EAGraph has the capability to compress the file but I am not sure if it actually does and if so how to use it to compress a file. I thought this might be the problem, but I checked the .fsh file and BIGGUI showed it was compressed. Could it be the image in the .fsh not being compressed? stecropper
Then you might check the image size of the replacing & replaced images. They would have to be the same size otherwise you would need to use another tool (such as nshtool (?)) and edit the index file for the images to match the new size of the replacing image then rebuild. dennisjames71
Hey Jeff, Ok, I’ve following the thread here and I was going to recommend what stecropper mentioned about the image size. He is spot on with saying that the image sizes of the originals must match the new images. In the 1x resolution uniform sets; the helmets are typically 128x64(pixels) and in the 2x resolution uniforms; they are 256x128. The uniforms I do are all 2x and it’s ok to replace 1x stock uniforms with 2x ones. Anyway, as far as installing uniforms; the program I HIGHLY recommend is TiT (Toal Installer Thingy) which is available for free at mlbmods.com. *All you do with TiT is copy the program file into your main directory. *Then you copy the ZIP file with your uniform .FSH file (U024o.fsh) into that SAME directory. *Double-click TiT, select the ZIP file and let it do it’s thing. If you want, I’ve included the ZIP file of the Cardinals Batting Practice Uniform (with white pants and the RED/HOME helmet) that you can try this with TiT. <see attached> OR The alternative method is to do it with EAGRPAH (that you had tried) but it’s more involved and takes longer. *What you can do is pull out/extract the u024o.FSH files out of the zip and install it manually with EAGRAPH. I’ve noticed that what you might be trying to do is to add the helmet (only), for example into the helmet image you see in EAGRAPH. That will typically let you “see” the new helmet in EAGRAPH; but the game will crash when you try to start a game with those uniforms. When you install a uniform set into the game with EAGRAPH; you must install the whole package. <I’m only guessing that this might be your problem because I did the same thing last year when I started this>. What you’ll need to do is extract/open the u024o.FSH with the nFSHTOOL. I have Windows set up to open any FSH file with this little command/program by default. When you extract it; a new folder will be created with this inside: You can edit existing images or replace them with new ones just as long as they are the same dimensions (like, 256x128 pixels). Then you double-click or open with nFSHTOOL, the “Index” file so that it re-packs everything in this new folder as a brand-new and updated FSH file. This FSH file is the new uniform pack that you must import with EAGRAPH or you ZIP up the file and install it with the TiT program I mentioned earlier. Here are the steps for installing this uniform pack with EAGRAPH if you want to go this route: Open up your models.BIG file with EAGRAPH and click the IMPORT WIZARD button at the top. Click the 2nd selection and click next. CLick ADD and navigate to your new FSH uniform file...u024o.FSH. Then click next and finish. I don't want to overwhelm you so I'll leave you with this to try now; but again I highly recommend the TiT program becuase it's basically a one-click process and takes a fraction of the time especially when you are installing multiple uniform and font files at once. I will check in later to see how you are doing. Good lucku024o.zip
jeffmanqb3
I won't be at my computer until the morning but I will definitely try out TiT. I've read other posts about TiT and it seems like the way to go. Anyways I had been trying the way you just explained with EAGraph, but I wasn't using nFSHTOOL. I think that was the step I was missing. I will try that out in the morning and post how it goes. Once again I really appreciate the all the help! Hey no worries...sometimes it can be great encouragement to have a little help when starting out on these modding problems. It took me a lot of trial and error when I started; but it actually can be fun when you get it figured out. I'll be glad to help with other questions you might have. Good luck. :good:

dennisjames71
Hey, awesome news...yeah nFSHTOOL really goes all of the grunt work for sure. Keep in mind later on that there are also associated font files (for example called f024o.FSH) that are the same corresponding number as the uniform file that you can pack in the same zip file and install with TiT or import it along with for uniform file in EAGRAPH. If you have any other questions, I'll be glad to help. Have fun!

I saw that you can make the Majestic logo transparent on the sleeve which removes it, but can you do the same for the MLB logo on the hats and helmets? I know the jerseys already have it on there with the team colors, but the logo on the hat and helmet looks like it is red and blue on every team. I think it might be "static", if that's the right way to put it, like the Majestic logo. Can you make that transparent too?

Hey Jeff, Sorry just getting back to you now…The short answer is that you are definitely correct in saying that the MLB logos on the back of the Caps are “static”. The thing is that they are basically “hard-coded” into certain uniform slots. In the major league uniform slots (0-29) the A,B,C,D <and some others> are typically reserved for the MLB logos on the back of the caps. Sometimes the G,H slots for example might be reserved for “classic baggie” or old-time uniform and you will not see those on there. Also, when you get to all of the Minor League teams, they usually have the MiLB logos on the back of the caps. So, basically it’s all about the specific uniform slot (letter). I have attached an extremely useful spreadsheet that Homer sent to me last summer and it identifies every single uniform slot and the characteristics of all of them. Without this, I would not have been able to easily make all of the uniforms I have done. Hope this helps.Uniforms Slots.zip
