I guess you have never bothered to look in the game itself. Have a good day.

Or, read the manual.

Y4L... he's clearly not familiar with the game and probably doesn't know how to navigate around.

Yev........ open up the controller.cfg file in the mvp2005 folder in your "my documents" area, not in the main folder itself. Open with a text editor, such as wordpad. Look for your keyboard control and you can type in any controls you want. I would make a backup first. Just make sure you don't have the same control for 2 different commands.

Y4L - Please tone down your attitude. There is nothing wrong with the questions that yev is asking. Telling him to buy a controller or to read the manual is not constructive. If you don't like his questions, or don't know the answer, just don't post anything. The last thing I want to see if people driven away from this site.

By the way, I just looked at the manual, and there is NOTHING in there that mentions a way to remap the keyboard keys.

yev - You should be able to remap the keys to your liking by editing the controller.cfg file that is in your My Documents \ MVP Baseball 2005 folder. The file can be edited with a text editor and you would want to look for the sections labeled "profile= Keyboard_Profile_1" or "profile= Keyboard_Profile_2". Attached, you'll find a piece of a configuration file I found online that contains keyboard settings. I use a controller, so I have no idea how (or if) these will work, but I wanted to show you what these two profiles could look like.

Most importantly, back up your controller.cfg file before you make any changes!! This way, if something goes wrong, you can get back to something that works.

There may also be an in-game editor for changing button (for controllers) or keyboard settings. It's been so long since I had to remap buttons that I can't remember if this type of editor was in MVP2005 or one of the other games I played.

In any case, good luck. You will also want to search the forums here to see if anyone else has discussed how to remap keyboard keys.

I'll address the last thing you wrote first. I didn't even bother to go and get my manual to double check your work because I take your word for things.

Now, I never said there was anything wrong with that guy's question. Granted, the help you ended up giving him was probably more helpful that mine since you gave him something to look at and read but telling him to purchase a controller would have made life easier for him. But I did tell him to go look in the game itself because the answer is there. I did not know exactly where it was because like you said in your post, it has been a long time I have had to remap my buttons because I have used the Saitek controller for years now. So forgive me for not knowing exactly where in the game that he had to go to but I did tell him he had to go in the game to do it. To me, that's helping him out.

Now I will go further. After reading this post, I went in the game to find exactly where he had to go. Not because I have a lousy attitude or that I don't want to make anyone leave the site, I went in the game to look this up because this is what I wanted to do. Big difference for me.

All he has to do is when he is on the main menu, go to MY MVP, then MY MVP OPTIONS then CONTROLLER CONFIG. Once he is in there, he can set the keyboard controls for anything he wishes to do. Again, I have not been in this area of the game in years so I didn't know exactly where it was. I just knew it was in the game.
