Against the Cubs he's 2-2 with a 5.63 ERA. Ryan Dempster (6-6, 3.38 ERA) Dempster got the win as he went 8.1 innings and gave up 9 hits and 2 runs. He's 0-3 with a 6.45 ERA against the Yankees. The Yankees got on the board in the 2nd with a Homer by Swisher and then followed with a RBI single by A-Rod. Dempster went 5 and gave up 6 hits and 2 runs. Sabathia was dominant until the 8th, when he gave up a walk and a hit by pitch: Rafael Soriano came in and allowed back-to-back RBI single to Soto and Alfonso Soriano. The Cubs then won the the game in the 10th with a RBI single by Colvin. Swisher hits a solo shot in the 2nd It's a Colwin! Colvin walks-off in the 10th inning. He's 2-4 with a 3.53 ERA against the Cubs. Carlos Zambrano (4-6, 3.13 ERA) Zambrano tossed a complete game shutout against the Brewers, gave up 4 hits and struck out 6. Against the Yankees he's 0-1 with a 8.03 ERA. Players to watch: Carlos Pena: He's 13-for-40 (.325) with 6 HRs and 11 RBIs against Pettitte. A-Rod drove in one with a RBI double and was followed by Cano with a RBI single. Granderson made it 3-0 as he hit into a fielder's choice. The Cubs wasted no time and got on the board in the bottom of the first as Soriano hit a RBI double. The Yanks scored again in the 4th with a RBI single by Gardner and A-Rod drove in one more RBI with a single in the 7th. Pettitte went 7.2 innings, gave up 10 hits, 3 runs (1 earned) and struck out 10. The Cubs tried to come back as Fukudome drove in one with a single and Castro made it 5-3 with a fielder's choice but Rivera tossed a scoreless 9th to end the game. He's 11-7 with a 4.36 ERA against the Cubs. Matt Garza (5-6, 3.84 ERA) Garza got the loss against the Brewers: he went 4.1 innings, gave up 6 hits and 5 runs (3 earned). He's 1-4 with a 4.48 ERA. Swisher made it 4-0 with a RBI double in the 3rd. Garza went 4 innings, gave up 5 hits, 4 runs (1 earned) and got the loss. Hernandez tossed 7 shutout innings, gave up 8 hits, 2 walks and struck out 10. The Yankees made it 6-0 thanks to back-to-back homers by A-Rod and Nick Swisher. The Cubs broke the shutout in the bottom of the 9th with a RBI single by Ramirez but still lost 6-1. Posada gives the Yankees the lead in the 1st It's an A-bomb from A-Rod! The Yanks managed to prevail thanks to a couple of clutch homers. The Reds got the lead thanks to a RBI double by Votto. In the 4th, Jeter drove in Gardner to tie the game. The Reds got the lead back in the 6th with a RBI single by Gomes. Arroyo went 7 innings, gave up 4 hits, 1 run and struck out 8. In the 8th inning, Jeter got hit no.3000 of his career: the Yankees then loaded the bases and Swisher cleared them with a Grand slam home-run, giving the Bombers a 5-2 lead. But the game wasn't over yet: a RBI double by Bruce and back-to-back sac flies by Gomes and Phillips tied the game at 5. But in the 9th inning, Martin delivered: a solo shot that gave, once again, the Yanks the lead. The Reds managed to load the bases in the 9th but couldn't score the tying run. 3000! In the 1st the Yanks got the lead thanks to a sac fly by A-Rod, followed by a 3-run HR by Granderson. But in the bottom of the inning, the Reds came back with a RBI double by Bruce and 3-run HR by Phillips. In the 2nd the Reds took the lead as Votto hit into a groundout and scored Stubbs. Janish made it 6-4 with another ground out in the 6th. Cano homered in the 7th but the Yanks couldn't come back as the Reds won 7-5 **forgot to turn Fraps on for this game** New York notables Robinson Cano: 2-for-5, R, 2 RBI, HR Curtis Granderson: 2-for-5, R, 3 RBI, 2B, HR Cincinnati notables Brandon Phillips: 2-for-4, 2 R, 3 RBI, 2B, HR Injury update: Silva was placed on the 15-day DL on June 20th. Sabathia kept the score tied until the 7th, when Phillips homered to tie the game. Votto broke the tie in the 11th with a solo homer by Votto. Hammell went 4 hits, gave up 1 hit, 2 runs and struck out 9. The Yankees got the lead back in the 6th thanks to a RBI single by Cano and in the 8th Teixeira hit HR no.16 of the season to make it 4-2. Rivera came in to pitch in the 9th but after getting 1 out, he pulled his quadricep and had to leave the game. Soriano got the save. Rivera is listed as day-to-day and won't be available to pitch tomorrow. Chacin went 6.1 innings, gave up 5 hits, 1 run and struck out 7. Millwood did good as well, but had to leave due to an injury. He went 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, 1 run and struck out 4. Cano broke the tie in the 8th with a solo homer, but the Rockies rallied and scored 3 in the 9th thanks to a 2 RBI single by Helton and RBI single by Tulowitzki. The Yankees managed to score 1 in the bottom of the 9th but couldn't come back. The Rockies won 4-3.
