Cano homered in the 2nd to give the Yanks the lead. Pettitte went 8.1 innings, gave up 7 hits, 1 run and struck out 10, but Rivera was unable to get the save as Damon tied the game with a single. Granderson homered in the 10th to make it 2-1 and Soriano closed the game. Hernandez went 7 and gave up 5 runs (3 earned). The Yanks got the lead in the 2nd thanks to a 2-run blast by Granderson, but in the bottom of the frame Shoppach made it 2-1 with a sac fly and Rodriguez tied it with a RBI double. The Rays got the lead in the 3rd with a RBI single by Jaso, followed by a 2 RBI double by Brignac. In the 4th Swisher made it 5-3 with a solo blast and in the 6th Cano tied with a 2-run shot. The Yanks won the game thanks to a 2-run HR by Teixeira and thanks to a scoreless 10th thrown by Mariano Rivera. Yanks win 5-3, take series A's comeback, Yanks manage to win it boxscore Game recap The Yanks got an early lead thanks to a solo homer by Posada, and in the 5th Cano drove in 2 with a double to make it 3-0. But in the 6th inning, Willingham tied the game with a 3-run home run. In the bottom the 6th, the Yanks wasted no time as Jones hit a 2-RBI single. Jones drove in 7 RBIs in the last 2 games. Rivera tossed a perfect 9th to get the save.
