Jim825
You understand how big the portrait.big file and frontend folder are, right? I wouldn't count on anyone wanting to send the files to you. Your only real option is to uninstall the game, reinstall it from your discs and then reinstall any mods you had previously installed. You did install the games with actual discs, right?
Gordo
Why would someone need to send you something that is in the actual install disc? I think you can actually just extract from the disc w/o reinstalling, no?
KANG94
I understand that you can extract the frontend folder from the disk (compressed), but for some reason, when I tried reinstalling the 2011 Totalportraits pack (using TiT), I get an error message at the end saying "windows cannot find '(null)'", and the updated portraits do not show up in mvpedit/game. The game crashes before I get to the menu...

KANG94
Exactly right. Well Kong that tells me that something is corrupted there. Kind of hard to tell what it is though. Exactly, and it sucks because I do not want to have to restart my entire game from scratch (I've made so much progress)...
Yankee4Life
Exactly, and it sucks because I do not want to have to restart my entire game from scratch (I've made so much progress)... I know this will be of no comfort to you, but this is not the first time a problem like this happened to someone. There's something that you added to your game -probably recently- that is causing a problem. Have you added a new cyberface for instance?
KANG94
I tried installing this with TiT... http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=6472 Now my game can't make it to the main menu, without crashing.
Gordo
Go to your mvp08 (or mvp2005) folder in your "mydocuments" setting (or whatever it is called on your pc). Save everything in there. Do a fresh install. If you were using the 08 total mod, then install that. Make sure it runs at this point. Take the essential files you saved from your 'mydocuments' folder and re-insert in the proper folder (such as your dynasty, profile, franchise......whatever). Do not install any other mods. See if you can call your franchise, etc. back up without crashing. Once successful, install the mods you want, but BACKUP the file that it will affect. For example, simply copy and rename your "portrait.big" file to "portrait.bak".
