LidsDude07
Hey all, I'm new to the board, and in MVP 2004, I really loved playing with the Minor League teams, as I felt I was in control of the whole franchise, but one thing I am wondering about? I am in Greenville, South Carolina, home of the old Greenville Braves, unfortunately, they jumped ship down to some place in Mississippi I believe, but thing is, the old Mets Single-A Team, the Capital City Bombers, who were in Columbia, SC last year, have now moved into Greenville as a Red Sox affiliate (And hopefully I can get away from Lids/Hatworld and get a job with them), but the main question is that if anyone knows if it will still be the Greenville Braves or the Greenville Bombers (Which I think is what they changed the name to.)? I know I have a day to wait to get the game and find out for myself, I was just wondering if someone might have some inside scoop and know what Minor League teams will actually be in the game. On a side note, all of you SD Padres fans, Khalil Greene (who lived in Greer, SC about 20 minutes from Greenville and played for Clemson) I think is going to tear it up this year. He came into the Lids I work at about 2 weeks ago, and I asked him how he felt going into this season, and he said that he feels really good and thinks he will produce much more this season. createbaseball
hey lids....dont think Tribe answered your question, but I know that Operation Sports posted a bunch of screenshots yesteday and the day before with splash screens of every team and the listed names and logo of their AAA, AA and A affiliate. Check them out and it will answer your question. I looked myself to see if they changed the Sarasota Sox to the Wilmington Blue Rock....which they did.. hope that helps... hefalumps
Welcome Lids. I don't have the game yet - but if the announcement about the Bombers move to Greenvile didn't get made until Feb 11th (according to their website), it's doubtful the EA folks had time to get that change in the game. If they're in the game at all, they'll probably still be named Capital City. I'm also curious to see how many A teams make it. I have a feeling maybe only the higher level A ball teams will make it, so the Bombers might get left off altogether in favor of the advanced A afilliate Wilmington Blue Rocks. This saddens me as well, as the Orioles lower A affiliate (Delmarva Shorebirds) play about five minutes from where I grew up. It'd be neat to see that team in the game. Instead they'll probably choose the higher A affiliate (Frederick Keys). EDIT: According to TribeTimes' post, sounds like only the High A teams will be in there - so probably no Bombers or Shorebirds for us. On a side note, a friend of mine works for the Blue Rocks. I went and saw a game there when they were affiliated with KC. I had no idea they had been changed to the Red Sox. Boston sure was busy shaking things up in the minors this offseason! Hey - at least your old Greenville Braves will be in the game tho as the Mississippi Braves.
