bctrackboi11
Do you think could I borrow your fonts to use with my versions?
Veesmack
Yeah. It's cool. Good luck with your versions. They look great.
Veesmack
I just didn't like how my Cal Ripken Jr face turned out so I worked on him again.
Veesmack
Here's my own version of George Brett. I believe the photo has been used before but it's perhaps the only good photo of him. Unfortunately, Brett's eye brows are not present. I'm gonna make another player who has the same problem who also played in Kansas City. I guess if you live in Kansas City, then your eye brows disappear. lol.
Homer
Not bad. It took me five years to make a decent Brett. As you said, there aren't many good photos of him.
Veesmack
I've had "modder's block" lately I've been sitting on that photo of Brett for quite a while. I've done five consecutive non high resolution faces in Ford, Jensen, Carter, White and Brett. I feel like I want to make some players from the early 1900's. Has anybody made a Jim Thorpe, Burleigh Grimes or or decent Rogers Hornsby? I had TC Phase 10 on my computer but I did a system restore and I think I accidentally deleted it. I just have the MEP and see there's a face for Rogers.
Homer
I did Hornsby awhile back. the others would be a warm welcome, because I haven't found a good enough photo to do thorpe. I know what you mean by the low res photos. They can be quite the challenge. I think we used the same photo for brett. you can see my versions below too. Veesmack
I went and did some more editing to Brett. Since he's a Bats Left/Throws Right guy I realized his face gets reversed when he's batting. I didn't know what caused the reversal thing but now I know. So I had to fade out the wrinkle on his left cheek because it was so noticible when he batted. And it also looked like a scar. hahaha. I made his ears a bit bigger vertically, narrowed his nostrils and brought his eyes down a bit. I think he looks more like him. I do like your Hornsby. I'm not gonna tackle him. Yeah, there's really only a few pictures of Thorpe when he was young. I was reading up about him and how he was an extra and stuntman in hollywood. Pretty sad story because he had it real tough for him after sports. I am glad his family was able to get back his Gold Medals from the 1912 Olympics. He did break the rules unintentionally but the statute of limitations of the Olympics was 30 days to take away medals at the time. They took his medals away half a year later in Jan 1913. As I mentioned above, I was gonna make another player whose eyebrows faded away and played in Kansas City. I was talking about David Cone. Homer
Glad you took out the wrinkle. Looks a lot better, as it really resembles him in his later career. It amazes me how much different he looked younger. I think for him, it's all in the mouth and nose to get a resemblance. Good luck with Cone. I want to make him but all the pics suck. Veesmack
You're right with Brett and how different he looks when he was older. I think he looks a lot less athletic aside from having more wrinkles. Most noticibly I notice it in his neck muscles. When he started DH-ing and playing 1B, is when I think he started to change a lot. He kind of aged fast after the late 80's. Maybe it was cigarettes lol. He didn't take a lot of photographs. Photographers were probably scared of him with the whole pine tar thing. just kidding. In all of Cone's photographs, I can never see his nostrils and usually don't see his eyebrows. I guess some guys are more photogenic on camera.
Veesmack
I was bored last night so I made a rendition of the 1938 Brooklyn Dodgers jersey. This is the year after the Dodgers wore green for one year. In my opinion, this is the first year of the current that emphasizes blue. This is the year that Babe Ruth was the first base coach for most of the year. I made the jersey as a modern retro jersey that uses the regular jersey slots rather than it being classic. Thus I have the batting helmet and low socks design.
Veesmack
Greatest Athlete of the second half of the 20th Century? Well, not at baseball but basketball was Michael Jeffrey Jordan
Veesmack
here is another mulligan for me. Before I used a baseball card photo to make a Tony Gwynn face. I will only use cards if there are no other photos available. But I found a photo of Tony from one of his last seasons where he's actually wearing the camou jersey. Veesmack
Congratulations to Jose Reyes for inking that guaranteed contract. And congratulations to the Marlins for spending some money. It will be a matter of time before we see if everything will pay dividends. As for the Marlins jerseys, I redid the numbers. I finally grabbed the numbers off MLB's website including each individual letter of the alphabet. It may be time consuming, but I won't settle for less. I also made a hockey catcher's mask in the MVP style as well as a managers jacket that mimics the black alternate jersey in a way. I have uploaded both high resolution textures and low resolution textures of the jerseys. If you got the previous version, uploaded in my thread, you are missing out on a better version of the home jersey. Honestly, I expect to update this when the 2012 season starts. I believe they are gonna actually wear black hats/helmets with the orange jerseys but I'm not really sure yet. I think it would look better that way. And here's one of my favorites, Kirby Puckett. He is missed in the baseball world. .
Veesmack
2012 marks a 10 year anniversary of the passing of Darryl Kile. While playing with the Cardinals, Kile died on June 22, 2002 of a heart attack in his hotel room. Kile was schedlued to start against the cubs that very day. Darryl was a three time all-star and known for throwing a spectacular 12-6 Curve ball that was noted as being MLB's Prime Nine top 9 Curve Balls of all time. Furthermore, Darryl Kile threw a no-hitter in 1993 against the Mets when he was only 22 years old.
Veesmack
Eric Bruntlett and Jeremy Reed. Eric was part of the 2008 WS Champion Phillies team. Reed batted .397 in 2004 in 18 games for the Mariners. Two Calfornnia Golden Bears in Tyler Walker and Ryan Drese had relative success in the majors. Ryan had 14 wins for the 2004 Rangers. Walker had 23 saves for the Giants in 2005. Brad Davis slugged a grand slam vs the Cardinals in 2010. Davis was Jered Weaver and Jason Vargas' catcher in college. In an alternate universe,, Paul McCarty and Santana Quentin played guitar and are legends from the 1960's
Veesmack
Here is Bob Brenly, current broadcaster for the Chicago Cubs. Bob was an All-Star in 1984 for the San Francisco Giants was a bench coach for the Giants under Roger Craig (not the 49er running back but Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher) and Dusty Baker. from 1995 to 2000, Bob worked as a broadcaster for Fox In his managerial rookie year in 2001, Brenly famously guided the Diamondbacks to their first World Series championship. This is based off of his MVP Baseball 2004 face.
Veesmack
Here is Roger Chamberlain or Don Cross or replacement brother to Kevin Millar, Damien Millar
Veesmack
In case nobody got my joke above, the above player is Damian Miller. he appears in MVP 2005 as Roger Chamberlain because he was a replacement player during the 1994 Strike. His fake name as a replacement player was Don Cross. Below, is Ducky Schofield's grandson, Jayson Werth. He hit 20 home runs last year but had a pretty dismal slugging percentage at .389. Come on, Jayson! his uncle Dick Schofield, had a slugging percentage of .397 in 1986! And nobody would think he was athletically gifted as Jayson. But Ducky, Dick and Jayson all have World Series rings. Albeit, Dick didn't play in the 1993 post season with the Blue Jays. Ducky was Bill Mazeroski's teammate with the 1960 Pirates. And Jayson, of course, was a member of the 2008 Phillies. Three generations of Winners!
Veesmack
The Drews are perhaps the highest paid trio of brothers in baseball with least number of all-star game appearances. Blame it on Scot Borass and not Tim Drew whatsoever. Not quite the DiMaggio's, but J.D. (or really D.J.) and Stephen have had solid careers while Tim appeared in parts of 5 major league seasons as a pitcher. The Drews hold their own because it really is difficult making it to the majors and even harder staying in the show.

Veesmack
Excellent work with Montero! Safeco is such a tough ballpark to hit homeruns. I think this will help Montero develop into a better overall hitter not hitting at new Yankee Stadium (AKA Coors Field East).
Homer
This guy has a tough one to make, so hopefully we can do better if he doesn't have a huge smile on this year's pressbox.
Veesmack
Yu lookin pretty good. He looks like he's serious about winning the Cy Young to the point he might actually kill opposing hitters. Yeah, I hate it when i want to make a player and they smile to the point where it's hard to make their face. I wanted to make Max Scherzer and his smile just killed it for me. Usually the eyes are the last thing I do, but I made Max Scherzer's eyes first. Maybe this new year will yield less smiles. It would be nice for face modders if the photographers just antagonated the players while taking their picture rather than trying to make them laugh. I took a photo for background acting at the central company. They said I looked evil (perhaps like Yu looks a bit in your face). And that made me laugh and they took a picture of me basically laughing
