Vader
Hi I just downloaded the baseup roster version 3.5 and i was wondering how do you install the mbe file into the MVP 2005 as it was explained in the file itself..?? thanks
Gordo
The .mbe files are read by the roster editor MVPedit only. It is not used by the game itself.
Vader
ok....Is there a way to edit the dat files for the roster cause i wanted to make a change on the salary for some of the players on my team...
Gordo
You'd have to import from the .dat files to MVPedit, make your changes, then export back out.

Vader
Hi I just tried it and for some reason it when i pressed import and choose what drive my game is on it didn`t give me a list of dat files it went directly to save option... any chance you have step by step instructions on how to do this..?? I would appreciate it.. thanks
Gordo
If you're not getting something like this when you click on "import", I'm not sure what to tell you:
Vader
I got that part but when i went into data and then database were the roster is held it asked me were i want to save the file and turned it into a mbe file is that correct..??? Gordo
that is correct, because the .mbe file is what MVPedit recognizes / manipulates. Then, the mbe file is exported back out to the .dat files as long as you have no errors. A biggie is, make sure you don't move a #1 SP to another team or you could corrupt the roster. Move him to another slot in the rotation first and avoid the headache
Vader
It worked perfectly thank you for your help..appreciate it..
Gordo
Great! I'm already doing tweaking for next year. I doubt The Show or 2K will catch my interest like this game does. Plus bringing custom rosters online can't be beat. Moving guys in and out and upgrading control for relief pitchers that deserve it at this point. If anyone seems to think there are any glaring ratings problems with any players point them out along the way.
billythekid
Can this roster be converted for use on the original Xbox? Is there a way to do this?
Gordo
The only way to do it is to 1) make sure the total players aren't over the Xbox roster limit (which I believe is somewhat smaller than the PC version) 2) standardize it (no custom cyberfaces), then 3) have someone with a modded xbox make you a franchise file for your given team. Unless someone knows another way......
billythekid
alright thanks for the info. would i just limit the roster size through mvpedit? standardize it with tywiggins standardmaker? would standardizing roster also remove cyberfaces? Gordo
You could easily do it through mvpedit by simply deleting players. I don't think the standardmaker works that simply. I think you have to fine tooth comb the roster. I believe once you have it as you want, you then run it through the standardmaker.
billythekid
I managed to get database.big file loaded and going briefly but the game crashed on the xbox. I then saved it as a roster file and it seemed to work okay for an exhibition game at least(except for the faces not matching the bodies on some players). Thanks. kyleb
The way I always used PC rosters on Xbox was by exporting the DAT files to the database folder and overwriting the previous files. Then I would delete hist.dat.
