LoGatto
I was having aissue with xp machine running out of space and space was just disappearing. I thought I had a virus as all information I was getting from support forums poinnted to that. I ran full scans using malwarebytes-security esstionals and spybot but all showed nothing, I then ran them is safe mode and malware picked up 4 items which were removed. I even tried to use macfee tools for rootkits and stinger and ran other virus scans from MS and kapervisy and still nothing found. I then ralized the machine was running fast while I was making changes to my season files using the editor, so I went to check the size and it went down from 484 mg to 3 and was telling me disk was full. I was really stuck but then I tried something I went into a folder that was created when editor was installed and saw many backup files in there and the folder size was 13 gigs. I then remembered that there wasa option in the editor off to the left that says dele backups but I did not know what this was for. I copied all the files to a external hard drive in case and then pressed delete backups and now have 13 gigs back and no more issues. I had a whole year of backups I did not know was getting created and taking up space. Did anyone have this issue before and are those files needed or can then just be cleaned up? mcoll
ther not requieed to keep, and if space is the issue, then i keep a few of tehm, just in case your currnet working one goes bad for some reason, you edit of foff the a backup from wher that backup stoped, beyond that there no need for them, just keep a few on that enxternal drive.
