DonSPa
File Name: Indians Retro File Submitter: DonSPa File Submitted: 31 Mar 2012 File Category: Uniforms and Accessories There are 2 folders One for those that have Tys roster editor and one for those that dont. There are 3 methods to installing. Tys Editor Instructions U can install these into the main mlb 2k12 folder and they will not overwrite any file. Open Tys editor and import the info from the text file included. These unis will have the correct color codes Normal Install instructions WARNING BACK UP ORIGINAL FILES as these will overwrite the originals.Unzip into the main mlb2k12 folder.Start game these will NOT have the correct color codes because of the way 2k does their files Generic Mod Enabler(use the files in the normal install) This is the best way for those who dont have tys editor and dont want to over write the originals. Download from http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products-jsgme.html and follow thier directions.Once installed there should be a folder called *MODS* Inside this folder u can create another folder. For example if u just want national league modded unis name a folder NATIONAL LEAGUE and place my unzipped uni files inside this folder.Start the enabler and choose the folder that has the mods then start the game and the unis should be available. If u want to revert back to the originals then just shut down the enabler again these will not have the correct color codes The Cleveland Spiders of the national league in the 1890's were one of the casualties when the league was reduced to 8 teams aftre the 1899 season.Cleveland then joined Ban Johnsons american league and was back as a major league for the 1901 season. Blue was thier uniform trim color and thus were called the "Blues" for the first 5 or 6 seasons. As normal they wore standard unis with the city name across the front. In 1905 blues superstar Nap Lajoie was selected to manage the team and a new home uniform for that season included an unusual form of the letter "C".It was an ornamental script style on the left front of the shirt.By 1907 thre name blues was beginning to tire the fans so they became to be known as the "Napoleans" or"Naps" in honor of thier leader. In 1909 it was to be Lajoie's last season and the nickname still stayed until 1915 when they officially became known as the "Indians".!916 a new nickname and new uniform was made and they added players numbers on the left sleeve. This idea lasted for one season and so was shelved for another 13 years until the Yankees expiermented with this idea.Another historical event took place the spring of 1916 when greatc tris speaker was purchased to become the new home town hero. His worth was proved as he became player manager in 1919 and leading the indians to thier first world series in 1920.As result of shortstop ray chapmans death during that pennant winning season they wore black armbands on thier left sleeve. The celebration of thier world series win carried over into the 1921 season as they wore the words "Worlds Champions" on the front of thier home and road unis.It was not a popular idea with Mgr Speaker or the players.Speakers leadership was not enough to win any more pennants and so in 1927 he moved onto Philadelphia to finish his career. Inspired by the Tigers(Tiger Head) uniform in 1927 Cleveland followed the idea for the 1928 season by having a full bonneted Indian on the front of thier jersey. It was the first visual acknowledgment of the teams nickname and represented the clubs participation in a baseball wide trend for more colorful uniforms. For the 1929 season the indian head was moved to the left sleeve as a block "C" was placed on the left breast. This uni lasted up to the 1933 season when the home uni was restyled with interesting color features. The button panel was made with solid red and thin navy blue edging and a new "wishbone style" "C" in red and blue and the stocking were navy blue. The solid red was dropped on the button panel in 1936 but the indian head patch continued. Ex pitching great Walter Johnson managed some respectable teams during this run and future great Bob Fellers debut was in these unis. 1938 the indian was removed and red stripes were added the the stockings but the wishbone C remained as the dominate design thru the WWII period. Thru the years the unis went trhu a few changes but in 1947 a new animated toothy grinned indian patch was created and put on the left sleeve and was nicknamed "WAHOO" and he lasted for 5 seasons. Those next few years new owner Bill Veeck drew many people into the stands with promotional gimmicks and a steady improving ball club.1948 Cleveland drew over 2 million people and the team rewarded them with a world series victory. 1951 introduced new manager al lopez and a few more uni changes.A new version of Wahoo was created on the sleeve as well as inside the C on the cap.Another big season in 54 as the indians won 110 games and bob feller finished out his career in 1956 and al lopez also had his final year. For the next couple decades cleveland went thru many uni changes and wahoo also went thru many changes, from pinstripes,to zippered to vest type but no uniform was more colorful than the 1975 season as they introduced 3 uni versions. A home ,away and an alternate. Many teams in the late 70s went to the bizzarre color schemes and double knitted uniforms just like the Astros,A's,Pirates and the Indians were no different. Wasnt til 1986 when Cleveland went back to the more conventional uniforms these are from the 1905,1928,1933,1975 home and away,1989 Indians. The files are home, alt a ,alt h,bph,cl1 and cl2 Click here to download this file
