AAACorey
So, I used to play MVP back in the day... then I think what happen'd was 2K sports got the rights to MLB and everybody else stopped making baseball games right?? But there was a catch.. you could make 1st party games and thus we now have The Show.. So, after reading all the reviews of the show 2012.. everybody was loving it and calling it the best baseball sim out there. I went out and bought it for PS3. What a piece of crap.. I can't get the baserunners to go where I want them to, the hitting is a total guessing game. I have only played road to the show but I imagine the pitching is decent. So after being a bit frustrated.. I bought MLB2K12.. WHAT A DISASTER!!!! What has happened?? I stop playing these games for about 6 years and things have gone way down hill. Is my only hope to re-install MVP?? What about HHeat?? Where are these people?? I know some may think that The show is a good game because of all the reviews.. but honestly.. it's pretty bad.. I've played baseball.. the pitcher batter deal is not that much of a guessing game. Can SOMEBODY PLEASE MAKE A DECENT BB game?? When does 2K sports rein on the MLB license end?? kjuggs
You can never go wrong with MVP. Never. In fact, I am rotating 3 games right now: MVP, Out of the Park, and Strat-O-Matic PC. Well, I just bought Strat PC version (and they will nickel and dime you to death), but anybody's who's played the board game knows how good it is. I usually enjoy just managing but I have grown to love doing the scouting for my 2012 Amateur draft in OOTP (just read moneyball- gonna try Beane's theories). The reviews didn't sway me one bit in my opinion of the game. How long did you play The Show ? Don't lie or exaggerate either. Be honest. A guessing game ? OK, there's a couple things to be said to you about that. First of all, there's a pitch speed slider. Adjust it. Secondly, maybe you just have poor hand eye coordination because I never felt it was like a guessing game. I turn "guess pitch" off.

I like the show a lot, and I guess it is the 'better' game, but I just seem to find 2k's offering a bit more fun - it has a nice combination of arcade/sim baseball that the show doesn't offer. Plus, PC mlb 2k means a lot of mods etc. :D
